Are you sharing your baby name with people?
Are you guys sharing the name you have chosen for your LO with family, friends, co-workers etc?
DH and I have been sharing it with anyone who asks, but many people keep saying we should keep it a secret.
What are you all doing?

Nope. We have 2 in there and decided we won't officially name them until we actually see them.  plus it cuts down tremendously on everyone's thoughts/opinions...

Yes, and its really hard at times. Its not fun when your mom or mil flat out tells you they don't like a name. Everyone is entilited to their opinion but when you know the grandmas don't like your kids name, its a little rough. If we waited until he/she were born, no one would care at that point.

This exactly. I think if you are comfortable with hearing people's opinions, then you should do what you want. I like the idea of people being surprised, and I like having that little thing just between DH and I. And even if no one criticized a name, I would just hate to be able to tell from their face if they didn't like it.

I tell people. I dont know why everything needs to be a surprise. Some cultures think it is bad luck which I totally understand but my culture doesnt so its ok.
I totally agree about the hearing peoples opinions...

No! I did with my first  and then my SIL (who was preggo also) decided to steal the name and use it in her DS name 3 months before my DS was born. Never making that mistake again!

We are team green and only have a for sure boy name, im thinking or asking a few people about the girl names we are thinking but not sure yet, I dont like the negativity on baby names.

No. One reason is superstition but we also don't want to hear opinions. We plan on having 2-3 names picked out and then officially deciding once we see LO and hold him/her for the first time. We won't be sharing the names with people.

I'm sharing with everyone. I know some people choose not to tell because they don't want to hear other's opinions, but I don't really care about what other people think! LOL

What??? That's horrible, how did she even get away with that???
We have told everyone, basically because we are so passionate about the name and it means so much to both of us that everyone will love it no matter what....

I have a feeling we're not going to be sure of the name we want to use until the baby is actually born. So when people ask I tell them what names we like, but I can't give a definite answer.

same. With DS 1 we had 5 names we liked so when poeple asked we would tell them our top names. We didnt tell them which ones we were favoring...
well probably do the same this time around

We're team  but have a girl and boy name picked out. DH and I agreed not to tell anyone because the names are not common and we really don't want to hear other people's opinions. Also depending on if we have a boy or girl we will most likely hold onto the other name in case we have #2 of opposite sex.

I just wanted to add that in my first pregnancy I told someone that our boy and girl names were Jack and Jayna. The person said she hoped I have a girl bc she did not like the name Jack! (Umm didn't ask for her opinion but got it anyway!) I though that was so rude.. 3 yrs later and many losses down, I think I can tell people my kids name is going to be Your Majesty the Giraffe of Prussia and they would be like.. Oh ok. By now I think everyone is just so impressed by the fact that I'm having a baby at all that they know better than to be a dlck!

We are telling people when they ask but not putting it on social media until after he's born.
SIL and BIL didn't tell anyone until our niece was born. They didn't want to hear "O I don't like that name" plus wanted that secret since they already knew it was a girl. We are naming after my dad and DH's uncle, plus when I hear "I don't like that name" I just respond with "then when you have a kid you shouldn't name it that".

We are not except for my 2 best friends who know our girls name because I have loved it forever and ever.
We haven't chosen a boys name but I like the idea of surprising people and I would rather not hear any negative feedback.

we don't plan to tell... since its still early at this point we can get away with telling people we haven't even thought about names yet (which is true)! but when it gets later into the pregnancy, the plan is just to let people know we have a few names in mind but won't be committing until the baby is born.
if anyone presses the issue, I'd probably offer a "reject name" lol... a name that was on the table but we don't choose in the end
