I kind of laugh to myself when i hear people say "my 38 month old" or whatever.I feel like once the child is past two it should just go directly to halves...2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2. What's the general consensus on this?

I stopped at 2. I would say things like he just turned 2. Or he is 2.5. Or he is almost 3. etc. etc.

Honestly after he turned 2 *I* couldn't even remember how many months it was. Chat Icon

I get so irritated when I hear that. Lol. Too much counting involved. I could see 2 being the cutoff.

I agree. Then you have to divide by 12. lol. I still count by months but after DD turns 2 I will stop. It was the same with the weeks. I stopped that at 12 weeks. Then she was just 3 months.

I HATE THIS!!!!!

I think I will cut if off at 1 year.. maybe 18 months. then you can always say "he will be 2 in Feb" or just 1.5.

I am completely irritated by anyone who does it after 2 years. 30 months means nothing to me.... just friggin' say 2.5 years!

thank god. Glad so many people agree. When somebody uses it after two I think to myself "your child is practically doing long division already...stop it just stop." LOL

2. I might say she was 2 in May but usually just leave it at that. When she's 2.5 I will say that until 3, etc. The months thing is asinine IMO.
