Baby Shower Menu Help

I am in charge of catering a 15 person baby shower. It will not be in MY kitchen so cooking there is kind of out of the question. And I don't have a lot of money to spend to cater so I was hoping to cook it all myself since I like to cook and bake. The location is 1 hour from where I live too so I don't even know the best places to order from in their area.

BUT All I was told was that the guest of honor "is craving/eating a lot of burgers" and that she is turned off by "nachos" while pregnant.

Help me create a menu that everyone will enjoy for 15 please. no idea what to do.

Well doing burgers would be out because of the distance.

How about meatballs in sauce? Then a baked ziti tray and some kind of chicken? And a salad or some other veg side?

But maybe that is too much for 15 people? You can do meatballs and wraps and salad and I think that would be enough.

I would go cold bc of the distance. You can prep stuff to make wraps or mini croissant sandwiches and assemble when you get there. Do a fancy chicken salad with cranberry. You can do chicken cutlets with roadted red pepper and cheese. Maybe a simple ham and cheese. For sides a nice green salad and a maybe a tortellini salad.

For the mom's burger craving what about one of those crescent rings. If you prep the filling can you bake it at the location?

My initial thought was cold but people may be expecting a hot meal. I agree with half trays of Italian food.

I wouldn’t worry too much about burgers. I’ve never heard of choosing a shower menu based on what the mom to be was craving.

Where is it? An hour away isn’t too far, someone on here may be familiar with the area and can recommend a caterer.

If you feel like you want to incorporate the burgers, you can do a picnic theme... or just style of food. You can do pull-apart sliders, which can be made ahead and baked/steamed. Then you can do room-temp fried chicken, sandwiches.... You can get fancy with the salads, deviled eggs, etc.

So long as it was during the day I would do brunch-bagels, salads, quiche, fruit, muffins...

Why don't you tell us the location? Perhaps there are reasonable restaurants in the area someone can suggest to cater from.

The desserts I would bake myself since you say you like doing that. For lunch I would do a bunch of salads and a hero (you can bring from home with you) and I would stop at McD's and pick up a bunch of cheeseburgers and hamburgers if that is what she is craving. We went to a baby shower that was all catered from McD's lol. It was awesome!
