Birth certificate when flying with baby?
If you've flown with your infant, did you need to show a birth certificate for your LO? My granddaughter is 7 mos. old and we're flying from JFK to Fla. on Sunday on Jet Blue. She will be sitting on our lap.

Re: Birth certificate when flying with baby?
I would advise to take a photocopy. I have always had one when we travel, but recently they didn't ask.

Re: Birth certificate when flying with baby?
They told me to bring when we flew to TX but I was never asked for it. It was to prove that he was under 2 but at 9 months, it wasn't an issue.

Re: Birth certificate when flying with baby?
I've flown twice with DS and was never even asked for it. My friend works at Southwest and told me that the moment he looks like he could POSSIBLY be two...I should definitely have it on me...b/c they could deny me at any point. He was 2 months and 8 months at both flights....

Re: Birth certificate when flying with baby?
First time I had her passport b/c we were going international, I just flew last week, and I didn't even know I needed the BC with me... I went to orlando and back and they didn't ask... thank god b/c I didn't have it with me. Although I did have her passport just in case.
In fact... it was almost too easy to steal her if I wasn't the parent... Kind of scary now that I think of it.

Re: Birth certificate when flying with baby?
We took it but they never asked to see it. We were flying from NY to FL also - only difference is my little one had her own seat. Bring it just in case!

Re: Birth certificate when flying with baby?
I jsut flew to Tx with a 13 month old and they suggested I bring a copy but they never looked at it, I think its required more for toddlers that look over 2 and are on the lap.. It wouldn't hurt to have a copy on hand though either..
