Birthday party gifts
Do you let your child open his/her gifts at their party or do you have them do it in private?

I have always had my kids open after the guests leave. For one, there usually isn't enough time to open all of the gifts. And two, I don't want my kids to say they don't like something in front of the person who gave the gift (my kids typically do not do that BUT one never knows---kids say the darndest things! ).

I like when people open gifts at the party-I like to see their reaction to the gift we got. So, we generally open gifts at the party.
Of course, if you have a big party, I can see how that gets nutty.
