Breastfeeding and Bottles
DD is 1 month and exclusively breastfed. We are starting to introduce bottles for when I go back to work at 3 months. I really do not want to give her a bottle, but know it will be a necessity. All the books say to start between 3 - 6 weeks. How often do you think I should give her a bottle to make sure that she does not refuse it when I go back to work? Is once a week enough?

Re: Breastfeeding and Bottles
I started giving the bottle when DD turned 1month and she took it fine from my DH. We did 1 about every 2-3 days. We did it for weeks, but then my DH schedule changed, so it got hard, and I was tired of pumping, cleaning, etc. Then we tried to give her the bottle around 3 months and she would not take it at all. If she did it took so long and she was making such a mess. I stuck with it and made sure it was nice and warm and she is taking it fine again. So my biggest advice is once you start, don't break the habit. The older they get the more aware they are.

Re: Breastfeeding and Bottles
I would give once a day now and increase it slowly so that when you go back to work all the day feedings are bottles.
