BTDT moms... induction?
At the time of your induction were you dialated at all or no more than 1 cm? were you contracting?
If not did this make induction longer/harder? How long did it take you?
Did you end up with a c/s?
Any info you can share would be great!

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was 37.5 weeks with zero dilation or effacement, no contractions. Had DD vaginally exactly 12 hours after the induction began. I had a wonderful experience and would do it again in a heartbeat with this baby!

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was dilated maybe 1.5cm and started the induction with cervadil at about 4pm. Had baby at 10:31pm the next night - vaginally. It was a LONG process - but I stuck it out was able to deliver vaginally which is what I really wanted.

I cant remember exactly but I'm pretty sure I was no more than 1 cm. I was induced at 40w3d and delivered vaginally.

oh wow.. that is a long time.
Thanks for the info. I am almost 1 cm, not contracting yet, but I may be induced at the end of next week. Im just worried about ending up with a c/s.

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was dilated a fingertip and contracting but didn't feel them when I went in for my induction.
My induction started at 8pm Sunday night and I wound up have a c-section on Tuesday morning. I never got past 4cm.
ETA: I was 39w5d.

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was induced at 41 weeks with DS, I was 1.5 cm dilated I believe. I had the epi around 4/5 cm, and kept progressing until I was 10 cm. I had DS that night vaginally with no complications.
As it looks right now, if I don't go on my own, i'll be induced again on Mon/Tues.

Same here.
They didn't give me cervadil - just pitocin and then they broke my water.
I was induced between 7am and 8am and had DS at 9:10pm.

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was induced 2 weeks early with DS I was just about 4 cm when I was induced and had been 100% effaced for weeks
I was having contractions (but didnt know it); i could only see them on the monitor
I was started on the pitocin around 1pm and DS was born at 9:10 - no c-section

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
My birth story
I was not even fingertip dialated when I went in for my induction.
They broke my water and started the piticon at 8:20 am. My contractions were immediately a minute and a half a part. I got the epidural by 9:15am.
By 12:30pm I was fully dialted and effaced.
I started pushing at 1:20pm and DD was born at 1:57pm
I had a very easy vaginal delivery

yes, I got the cervadil, then after my water broke, the epidural and then the picotin.

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was dilated to almost 3cm and 80% effaced at the time of my induction.
I was at my OB appt earlier and she told me that I was having contractions and that I could go in. I couldn't feel them but when we got to the hospital, it was very clear on the monitor. The nurses couldn't believe that I couldn't feel them.
I do think pitocin makes labor rougher but I have nothing to compare it against yet. I felt it made my body contract harder and faster but didn't do anything in regards to dilation, probably because I was forced to lay in the bed with the IV and gravity wasn't helping. I didn't dilate past 3cm until 18 hours later. I'm opposed to giving birth that way again.
I gave birth vaginally almost 24 hours after checking into the hospital and 22 hours after getting hooked up to pitocin.

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
thanks everyone for the info. I feel a little better knowing that I dont have to be dilated at the time of induction. I just hope it doesnt take as long as it did for some of you... it had to be very frustrating.

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was not even a cm dilated at 42 weeks so I was induced. I was on pitocin for 14 hours and still not a cm dilated so I wound up with a c/s

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was induced with my first....
I was dialted to 1.5 when I was induced, and I had been having some contractions that I felt but were not painful. I was given cervadil at about 6:30 or 7 am, and by 12 noon I was dialated to 3 and they broke my water. Labor progressed on it's own from there, no c/s needed.

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was only a fingertip dialated (I was induced at 39 weeks due to a blood clotting disorder that I have)
I was on pitocin for 6 hours with NO dialation and some signs of fetal distress
I had a c-section, no regrets, great experience
my 2nd child was delivered via a scheduled c-section

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was induced at 38 weeks for medical reasons. I was 1.5-2 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I ended up with a c-section about 24 hours after my induction began. I never progressed past 4-5 cm.

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was induced at 41w5d. I did start labor that morning naturally, but since my water was leaking and I made no progress in terms of dilation (I was a fingertip dilated) we still induced. Started with Cervadil on Thursday, which did almost nothing overnight, then pitocin the next day. I did end up with a c-section on Saturday morning... BUT NOT BECAUSE OF A FAILED INDUCTION. I pushed for 4 hours and DS was transverse or (sunnyside up) so he got stuck. Being a 9 lb baby it was impossible to get him to turn into the correct position. You can find my full birth story in my profile.

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
I was induced at 41 weeks. The day prior, I think I was only a fingertip dilated. I don't remember how effaced I was.
When they got me into my bed and hooked up the monitors, they found I was having contractions (couldn't feel them). And apparently I was effaced b/c I was able to skip the whole Cervadil process and went right on to Pitocin and they broke my water.
In my hospital bed by 7:30pm, baby born 2:30am next day-- 7 hours total (no c-section).

Re: BTDT moms... induction?
My 1st DS I was 40wk5d...Wasnt dialated and had a thick cervix. Did 48 hours worth of cervadil and then on the third day started pitocin for 12 hours but eventually delivered vaginally....worst experience ever!
2nd son was the same situation except for doctors did straight pitocin and I delivered within 8 hours of being induced....much more wonderful experience!
