BTDT Moms: What regsitry items did you end up NOT needing?
i'm going to start registering this week and we live in the bottom part of a house so its still like an apartment. i dont want to clutter it with big items that i may not really need/get use out of.
What did you register for that you could have done without? ended up not using? or chose not to register for and it was fine. Thanks

Surprisingly, the pack and play is something I wish I didn't register for or have.
Oh and I didn't register for a Snap n Go and I'm fine without it. I know people rave about their's, but we are just fine using the travel system... plus, with the travel system, I can cover/hide DS completely and with the Snap n Go I wouldn't be able to do that.

Re: BTDT Moms: What regsitry items did you end up NOT needing?
The bumbo- barely used it
Bottle warner- we returned it
Bottle sterilizer- returned it
Sleep sheep- stopped using because it turned off after 45 min.s and DS would wake up. Went and bought a sound machne that stayed constantly on.
that's about it, I feel like we got alot of use out of everything else we got.

Re: BTDT Moms: What regsitry items did you end up NOT needing?
totally agree about the pack n play- we only used it for the first month and then when ds went into his room we havent used it since.
we use the video monitor everynight, it stops me from jumping up everytime he cries
definitely get the space saver highchair if you are tight on space- it goes on a regular chair and saves so much room
good luck and have fun registering

Re: BTDT Moms: What regsitry items did you end up NOT needing?
The bumbo... complete waste
Unless you are BF'ing... the boppy
Wipe warmer- not necessary
Bottle warmer- Tap water works just the same.
Thats it.

Re: BTDT Moms: What regsitry items did you end up NOT needing?
what is the use for the pack and play? is it supposed to be just a place to kinda corral them in for a little bit, like the old school play pens?

The pack n play was huge and took up space and was a complete waste. If you are short on space and want something for the baby to sleep in get the Fisher Price Rock n Play newborn sleeper. It folds up

Exactly. Some people also use it when they are going to someone's house and their DC is gonna want to nap.
I think if you have an apartment (1 floor) its gonna just take up space for no reason.

Yes, but you can also use it as a portable crib when traveling or visiting someone and they have a newborn napper for newborns to sleep in like a bassinet.
But I never really used mine.

The baby bathtub was rarely used and i find it takes up so much space. We prefer to bathe in the sink with a bath sling like this

I actually love my bottle warmer...and it was wonderful when I was pumping bc the BM would go straight from the fridge to the warmer! especially during the night, it was 123!!
returned the sterilizer bc our dishwasher has a sterilizer option
and bought an expensive swing that sways left to right that the baby barely uses...I wish we bought one that went back and fourth!!

Re: BTDT Moms: What regsitry items did you end up NOT needing?
Bumbo seat, boppy (I used a regular pillow when nursing) bouncy seat (dd hated it), and bassinet (we used a pack n play instead of the bassinet, much easier). I love pack n play now that my dd sits I put her in their with toys and she loves it.
Things I still have in boxes & bags and never opened milk storage bags (I got way too many), lots of extra sheets I think 3 fitted sheets is more than enough. extra boppy covers one is sufficient, tons of shampoo and baby products

i was actually just looking into this exact product to use in place of a bassinet. our bedroom would be pretty tight with a bassinet so i was looking at this instead

Re: BTDT Moms: What regsitry items did you end up NOT needing?
If you plan on taking the baby anywhere overnight then you'll need a PNP. We kept the PNP downstairs and used the changing table on it all the time. We also took with us when we went away and DS slept in that. He'll be able to sleep in it for awhile longer so I think its worth it. In fact nobody bought us one so we went out and bought it ourselves.

It is awesome! Get it! I just passed mine down to my sis with a newborn! And the best part- it's on an incline so if they have tummy issues or any reflux, it's sooo much better for them. And you can use it up to 25 pounds AND you can take it with you if you need to have the baby sleep somewhere else.

Not necesarrily. The Rock N Play sleeper actually travels a lot easier, takes up less space in the car, and opens in a snap without all the putting together of a pack n play. I always had issues breaking that pack n play down- it was hard to collapse it and get it in the bag. We took the rock n play with us everywhere

Crashing--but please don't use this item in place of a bassinet at the beginning. My sister used this and my nephew got a flat spot on his head from it. Her pediatrician said this item did not have to pass the same safety specifications for sleeping and it should NOT be used for this purpose. Once in a while, fine, but not every night for months.

Babies can get a flat spot in their head from laying flat in anything- even a bassinet or crib. This is actually made for nightly sleep if you look at the specs. My DD was in it for 5 months and is fine... as well as SEVERAL of my friends and families babies. I made the ped aware this was what she was sleeping in- they never told me it wasn't ok....
