BTDT moms who did not go back to work

if you didnt tell your boss that you werent coming back, when did you tell him that. Also are we guarenteed health benefits during leave. I work for a small office where most FMLA laws dont apply. I am also in CT. TIA!!

I think that if you do not return to work after your leave that your company can make you pay back whatever they paid for benefits during your maternity leave. I'm not sure if you give advance notice of not returning whether or not they have to pay them.

After having DS I did not know I wasn't going to return to work. As the end of my 3 month maternity leave approached, I reached out to my manager and had a conference call with her & 2 ppl from H.R. I told them my DH's schedule had changed and need some accomodations for work- I could only work 30hrs/week for 1 month then I could go back to 40 hrs. LONG story short, I didn't go back & just told them over the phone & mailed an official resignation letter.

Sorry I can't answer about insurance, as I was covered under DH. As PP said, they may have you pay them back for while you were on maternity leave.
