BTDT question: Waking kids up very early in the morning to take a road trip
Next week we’re going away. It’s about a 7-8 hour traffic barring ridiculous traffic and delays.
Have to get through NYC before the morning rush, so we think we’re going to leave our house at 4am. Thinking of waking the girls (ages 1 & 4) at 3:45ish, just changing baby’s diaper, having my oldest use the bathroom, then going in the car (which will already be packed). Is it at all possible that they’ll go back to sleep? Especially with them sitting next to each other (though still dark at that hour thankfully!)? They’re early risers, up by 6:30am or 7:00am at the latest usually anyway, but I certainly don’t want them wide awake at 4am (and miserable lol).
Those who have BTDT, What are my chances? LOL?

I think it's 50/50. We got our kids up at 2 am for a ride to JFK. DD fell back asleep, but DS stayed up (but he was in a good mood).

They'll fall asleep eventually. I know Eliza would totally crash, but Madelyn would be up for awhile.
