Can any offer any tips for constipation in a 6 week old?
DD is hasnt had a BM for the past 2 days. I called my PED but they are closed, they are suppost to be open 7 days a week Anyway, is there anything i can do thats safe to help her go? shes crying and pushing so hard trying to go

They are probably out to lunch, maybe try at 1?
You can try to insert a thermometer rectally to see if that helps. Or give her an oz of water

yup... the thermometer thing works. My Ped recommended doing it and it worked.

rectal thermometer
1-2 oz of water, can add 1 tsp of prune juice too it
just be ready for the poop!

Agreed, our ped recommended 1oz of water and 1oz of apple juice for DD when she was 5w.o.

DS is having the SAME problem ever since being on soy. My Ped recommended 2 ounces of water daily and the thermometer trick every other day. It helps a little but he's still crying non stop, not sleeping well, and straining sooo much. When he does poop its dry and pastey.

My ped let me give mine an ounce of prune juice. Also, when you use the thermometer, it helps to spin it around a bit and move it from side to side.
ETA: I've also used a q-tip instead of the thermometer (first had to do it when I was visiting a relative and didn't have a thermometer with me). Ped said to use this.
