Sorry if I missed this info in the links, but isn't IVF very expensive (and not covered by insurance usually)? If the family is filing bankruptcy and living in a 2-bedroom house filled with 9 people (now will be 17) where did she get the money for it?
Please check previous posts. She went to Mexico.
I had read that, so in Mexico it's free or "cheap"? Even if it's half of what it is here, that's still thousands of dollars plus meds, travel, etc.
I don't know if it's been confirmed that she went to Mexico, but it would answer a lot of questions if she did. In Mexico, medical procedures are ridiculously cheap compared to what we pay here. But you're not necessarily getting top-rate health care either - which would explain the doctor being willing to transfer 8 embyros. Meds are cheaper too, and can often be bought at pharmacies without a prescription, and travel costs are low because the woman lives outside LA. She could drive to Tijuana in about 3 hours.

I think maybe we should reserve judgement.
Would *I* do it? Not a chance. But.. I'm not this woman and can't begin to guess her motivation.
I can't imagine the motivation for a single woman that lives with her parents to have 14 children by IVF
You know - I can't either. But.. I don't know the whole story. I am thinking that there absolutely MUST be more to this than meets the eye. Maybe there isn't.. maybe she's just an irresponsible person or maybe she's just nuts. Or maybe there is something else that is being kept away from the media. I mean it DOESN'T make sense with the information we've been given, right? What doctor would do that? What woman would want that? I can't figure it out.. so instead of trying I'm just going to hang out and wait until she goes on Oprah or writes her book or whatever it is that she does to clarify her decisions. IF she chooses to clarify them. In the interim.. I'll just pray for her and her family.
Maybe she is nuts? Maybe?

This morning I heard on the radio that she is 33 & a single mom living with her mother....Her mother said her daughter never felt the need to get married but now wants to sell her story to Oprah for 2million & get a career on a talk show on raising children
Having kids hardly makes one a child raising expert.
