Of course! I didn't vote though b/c there was no option for me.
I have very few friends that are the same political party as me. Then, there are also things within my own party that i disagree with, too. I have no problem talking politics- i like hearing the other side, especially since i am very middle of the line, for the most part. I also don't try to shove my opinions down their throats and vice versa.
There are a few people i won't talk politics with, but that's just b/c of their personality- one of them is the same party as i am- they're just annoying when it comes to discussing topics.

Yes, but we can only discuss it with some.
Good friends of ours are very conservative republicans. DH will discuss the economic reasons with them, but not the social ones which they back up w/ bible versus... and we don't want to bother getting into theological discussions with them (we're agnostic).

As long as there is mutual respect and the ability to agree to disagree it's fine. I'm very a moderate Republican so as long as the ultra right wings or ultra left wings don't get in my face I'm ok with them having their views.

I didn't answer the poll because the answer didn't fit me, but most of my friends (DH included) don't share my political beliefs.
I think it allows for some great conversations and I've learned a lot from many of my friend and DH and I hope that I've helped them learn a little about the way I feel.
I think it would be sooo boring if all my friends were just like me.

Yes. We have friends who have very different political beliefs but we are still friends.
Rule of thumb for us is keep the convos about, politics, religion and school taxes at home.

I have a bunch of friends where I don't share their political views and we do talk about it sometimes- more often lately with the election this year. We have "healthy" debates and it doesn't hurt our friendship at all.

I have MANY Republican friends and it is fine with me.
However, it would be really, really hard for me if my wife had different political beliefs than me. Glad we're both liberals and don't have to deal with that.

Absolutely. I'm not friends with someone because of the politician they back.
There is no such thing as the perfect politician. My friends and I have similar tastes, beliefs, etc, but it doesn't mean that these similarities lead to the same political leader.

I hope so....my boyfriend and I are voting for different parties.
Different issues concern us....hence our different votes. We can appreciate eachothers views, however we just don't agree.

I can't imagine being so closed-minded that I couldn't befriend anyone who had different political beliefs from me. If politicians can do it, I think I can handle it.

Mosdt iof my friends are of a different political party. We rarely discuss politics. But I don't discuss politics with many people. Too easy to get into a huge argument and lose friends.
