Can you shower if your water breaks?
Nothing yet  Just curious! My water never broke with DS but I want to try and labor at home this time for as long as possible. I hated being strapped down in the bed with DS.

I asked at the last appointment & was told ABSOLUTELY! Blinderman even said to soak in the tub some!
Hopefully if i am going to hold on, I go into labor the same time as you, then I know I will end up at S. Nassau

Well being it's your 1st, you could always go a week late and I am praying to go a week early

You can shower but my doctor and everyone I've spoken to said you cant take a bath b/c bacteria can flow back up to the baby. Plus, would you really want to try and get out of the bathtub when you are THAT preggo.

I did. My water broke in the middle of the night. I called the doc and asked "can I shower before we head to the hospital"? He said absolutely!!
Good thing I did, because it was a looong time before I took another shower.. Labor lasted for 32 hours followed by a c-section.
