We prefer bottles.
However, since having DS, DH buys cans since he doesn't want broken glass in the backyard.
We've been buying Brooklyn in cans lately.

I agree beer is beer. We would probably get bottles and cans, especially bc DH is into IPA which is generally bottled.

matters location of party - for outdoor party we use cans outsdie only - i have a no glass rule outside to protect kid's feet - if people want a bottle we keep them in the downstairs fridge with a big sign telling them to poor into a cup.
my dh is a beer snob but we have a really good beer distributer in town and he can get very differnt beer in cans including a watermelon summer beer and other unusual things
We do the same thing because of the glass problem. But people ALWAYS bring bottles so we mix it up regardless.

Beer is beer. People should just be appreciative that they're getting free beer!
I prefer bottles but would never think someone is trashy because they had cans.

There was recently a blind study done (I saw on AOL) that said that 85% of beer drinkers preferred beer from a can over a bottle.
Not surprising
1) It's colder
2) Beer is better when light is kept out.
It shouldn't be considered trashy. it should be considered "being a serious beer drinker."

I would never turn down beer in a can either, but i can't believe people prefer the taste of beer in a can vs bottle!! I always think it tastes like aluminum lol...I will always prefer bottled beer but don't mind it in a can. I usually pour it into a chilled glass though if its available

Beer in a can or bottle is still beer! And anyone who has a problem with it can bring their own beer to the party. When I go to parties there are usually both and no one seems to have a problem with either.

If you feel that it may be trashy, you can tell people you are "kicking it old school" with cans. I happen to love a bar in NYC that only serves beers in cans with cozies!

i happen to drink beer and actually prefer a bottle based on how it feels. like i would love a soda out of a bottle instead of a can too.
