But what about the FACT that CA waited 31 days to report her daughter missing?! Wouldn't THAT alone lead them to at least find her guilty of child neglect/abuse???!!! Isn't this FACT beyond reasonable doubt?????? I have two degrees in CJ and this is just BEYOND me...BEYOND! Something was not right in this case.
Good point. ITA...what do the other lawyers on here think of THIS statement?

I know. It's all the same. $$$$$$ makes the world go round and makes even the most reasonable/rational person do some really stupid things and the "general public" will buy whatever kool-aid the media is selling. I am guilty of it at times too....I love my US weekly

I am so disgusted, angry and upset over this whole case. The jurors are instructed to base their decision on relevant FACTS, yes, I totally get THAT. But what about the FACT that CA waited 31 days to report her daughter missing?! Wouldn't THAT alone lead them to at least find her guilty of child neglect/abuse???!!! Isn't this FACT beyond reasonable doubt?????? I have two degrees in CJ and this is just BEYOND me...BEYOND! Something was not right in this case. I am surprised she is not walking out of there today FREE.
I keep thinking about this also!!!!!!

As for the other cases - did they involve false missing persons cases? That definitely helped drive the story from the start.

With all due respect, I know NG is a little crazy at times and people might not like her but that woman has helped find so many missing children. While she is no John Walsh, she has done alot of good for families with her media outlet.
We overlook the fact that people have reached out to her to help them look for their loved ones.

Cindy and George were on the verge of divorce before and ultimately all of this BROUGHT THEM CLOSER TOGETHER..
I truly believe that he knows that his daughter did it.
I definitely believe they know too. I'm sure they don't know the facts and that is why George is so angry with her. Cindy on the otherhand I think lives in the clouds.

Yup! I believe it was last year that she ran a missing teenager story and a viewer spotted the girl in a store 3,000 miles away from where she went missing (with the person that murdered her mother), and called police. I am sure if that story wasn't on Nancy Grace, that poor little girl would have ended up like her mother.

It may very well not be enough, it depends on the way the law is written for the crime she was charged with. I don't know and I don't have access at the moment to the florida penal code. Nor do i know which section she was charged with. So I can't say for sure. But it's sad and outrageous that she waited that long... if that's not a crime, it should be.
At the same time, however... and just throwing this out there.... if she KNEW that Caylee wasn't really missing, how COULD she be charged with a crime for not reporting her daughter missing (assuming that its a crime). Her daughter wasn't missing, hence, no need to report it.
Thoughts on that?

I think the circumstances that lead to a missing child/teen/adult are what makes it "media worthy". I hate to even say worthy because they are all worthy.

I agree. Personally I love NG...yes she's over the top but thats because shes so passionate about victims.
I remember watching NG around the same time as Caylee went missing and another little girl went missing in FL too...Haleigh Cummings. Also suspicious circumstances...difference being her STEP-mother reported her missing ASAP..she didn't wait over a month.
As far as the CA case...I don't think it had anything to do with race...I think it had to do with the fact that it was initially reported as a "kidnapping" and spiraled out of control.
Remember Susan Smith who reported her kids kidnapped...that went viral too but she at least admitted she drove her car off a bridge with the kids in it. CA never admitted anything...even in the opening arguments she never admitted anything..her lawyer claimed it was an accident.
Of course this case drew national attention, a missing little girl not reported for a month, a young attractive mother who was pictured partying during that time and subsequently caught stealing and frantic grandparents crying out for help. I think it captured everyones heart. Sad Sad situation.

The reason this case made headlines is because of the 31 days she waited to report her daughter 'missing', the non-stop lies she told throughout this saga and of course the fact that she partied like a rock star while her daughter was 'missing'.

I'm guessing it's bc CA's defense was that Caylee drowned in the pool - so she really wasn't technically "missing". They jury probably looked at it as though Casey already knew 'where she was'.

exactly...john walsh does not sensationalize.
I just don't like her methods. at all. the "tot mom" catch phrases...the extreme vilification.
everyone is entitled to their opinion of her, of course, but how many of the people caught on America's Most Wanted have gone on to recieve such notoriety?

I am a criminal attorney but have no clue about florida penal code. but the prosecutors have a theory about the case. That she killed her. The fact that she did not call police after she killed her would not be considered abuse because she was already dead.
