WOW. I believe in it!
Me too.
I agree with everyone else about how they have been so deeply affected by this case. I wish there was something that we could do to help the situation but we just can't. I was watching an interview with Ashton and he said that whats done is done so we should channel this energy into a positive thing. He suggested volunteering for a children's organization or something along those lines. He says to do it in Caylees memory. I can't find the exact quote but it was a nice idea.

The way Casey was today - with a sparkle in her eye - her hair down- and a smirk on her face....she is lucky I don't live in Florida. I hate to say it but that poor baby is better off where she is. So many people try to have kids and can't. So many people have sick kids. So many people have kids that die. This witch had a gorgeous, perfect, healthy child and she killed her AND got away with it. It truly makes me sick.
Her smirk made me sick to my stomach today. Playing w/ her hair, smiling away. I agree w/ you though..word for word.

that really annoys me. it was 6-6... and then all switched their minds?? Either they had persistent jurors forcing them to change their vote or really just didn't care at that point and wanted to go home... I'm sorry that is strange to me that everyone was strongly half-half and then it seemed like by around lunch everyone was switching around.... it makes me sick. I'm glad they are haunted by those images. they should be! they let her murderer go free.
But again.... "We didn't know how she died, we didn't know when she died," the juror said of Caylee. "Technically, we didn't even know where she died."
They could not convict her according to the law. This was not a "how I feel" conviction or "what picture I saw" conviction. That is not the law.
(I am not saying she is innocent but totally see why these jurors did what they did).
I definitely get that for the first degree and MAYBE even for the manslaughter though I would have voted yes to that...but the child neglect/abuse? That was pretty obvious. She didn't call 911 to try to save her child from "drowning" in the pool...she didn't even call a neighbor for help. If Caylee did drown in the pool was she alone? Was Casey out and about? Did she encourage her too...why not call 911 to try to save your kids life if you are there. Assuming you are there with your child and watching them how long was she left alone if she drowned or if it was an accident? It's just common sense. That's neglect. Caylee was 2 years old...not 10 or 11. Definitely not capable of watching herself. NEGLECT...whether or not it was an accident. How could the jurors not see that?
What was so obvious about neglect or abuse? There was no evidence whatsoever that she drowned. You can't convict her for child neglect or abuse for not calling 911 when there is NO EVIDENCE 911 should have been called. Her attorney's suggestion that drowning was a possible means of death - was just that - a suggestion. It also happened to be a plausible one because there was no actual evidence to the contrary.

I havent been posting much here either. I was literally waking up at night thinking of it and it was starting to distract me.
I just cant stop thinking about that poor little girl and how disturbing it is that her mother didnt CARE that she died at the very least, or even worse caused her death.
The trunk, the way her body was disposed off... I just cant.
I wont begin to judge the jurors ..... IMO it just isnt fair to. Im just sad about the whole thing and want to know what really happened to poor little Caylee.

I've been slowly, slowly stepping away from all of the posts/articles/news about it....just a little bit here and there b/c it is too gut wrenching. I just feel sick about it. I signed that Caylee's law petition, I'm not going to buy anything CA's selling...and going to keep enjoying MY DC and try not to let this biiitch take up much more of my life. I am just disheartened by the whole thing.
Same I can't watch HLN anymore and I've been trying to stay away from the threads about it.
I will never forget the heartache I felt when they read the verdict but I need to step away now and enjoy my DD.
I have to accept that this monster will be given the same rights as me in a few short days.
I will think about CAYLEE on July 17 and pray that she is resting in peace. I will think about CAYLEE on August 9 when she would have turned 6.

Sorry, but she's the last one seen with the child alive. She spends a month lying to everyone about her whereabouts. She never contacts authorities concerned about her daughter in any way. In fact, she misleads them and sends them on a wide goose chase. Her daughter turns up decomposed in a garbage bag thrown in a swamp.....if that doesn't scream neglect/abuse, I don't know what does.

Right. If her and "her dad" found her dead in the pool, who are THEY to assume CPR should not be performed and emergency and authorities NOT be called? That isn't abuse and neglect? Then to supposedly allow her "DAD" to dump the body in the woods??? That is YOUR child, you allow that? How is that NOT abuse and neglect?????
I don't care what anyone says to me about the jurors They made up their minds and I MADE UP MINE. I think they did an AWFUL job. They did not think this out intelligently enough. They let a MURDERER go free without even convicting her of CHILD ABUSE (just b/c no one sat there on the stand saying she didnt "feed" her child and that she didn't have "bruises"). How stupid can you be???? You were JUST told that she did not report her child missing for 31 days, she did not call 911 when the child "supposedly" drowned, and then she allowed her "dad" to dump her CHILD IN THE WOODS to be eaten by animals and like trash???
I am sorry but I can't say it enough, what trial were these jurors listening to? They are FOOLS. They made a mockery of this child's life by setting her MOTHER WHO MURDERED her FREE to party and have a grand old life (and screw up some more lives when she clearly will have kids again).
The more I think about them NOT convicting her of child abuse, the MORE MAD I GET.
You and many others that are angered by the verdict are being blinded by emotion.
The State of Florida did not charge her with unlawful disposal of a dead body. The State of Florida did not charge her with desecration of human remains. The State of Florida did not charge her with child abuse. She was charged with 1st Degree murder. She was charged with aggravated manslaughter. She was charged with aggravated child abuse (which required the jury to find BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT that Casey intentionally inflicted physical injury upon Caylee and that such act actually cause physical harm). She was charged with 4 counts of giving a false statement to a law enforcement official.
There was NO evidence that Casey herself intentionally committed any act whose purpose was to cause physical injury that resulted in physical injury. Even if you believe she used cloroform to put Caylee to sleep, you can't say that the primary purpose of that was to cause physical injury. In fact, the contrary was true - the purpose (as it was) was to get the child to go to sleep so Casey could party with friends uninterrupted.
AND you cannot abuse or neglect a child that is already dead.

I'll tell you what scream abuse and neglect . . . google Lisa Steinberg and you'll see what abuse and neglect is truly all about.
Casey may have been the last one to see her alive. She sure as heck lied about where Caylee was BUT if she was already dead, going out and partying with friends does not equal neglect or abuse. Poor judgment, bad mother, sociopath - yes - but abuse and neglect - nope.

I'm sorry, but you are being so incredibly condescending toward people who don't agree with you I find it upsetting. People are being emotional about the verdict, but this is after most of them came to a conclusion on the evidence without all this raw emotion involved. People are upset because they feel a monster has been let off the hook when all the evidence was there to convict her. I know that I watched the same news feed that everyone else did, and without watching all these opinions shows I came to the conclusion that Casey was GUILTY beyond any reasonable doubt. If you know how to reasonably connect all the evidence together, I think you'd come to the same conclusion. But I think you are just arguing for the sake of arguing.
The fact is, many MANY time cases are completely circumstantial, and it still leads to the defendant being convicted of first degree murder. In some cases, they don't even have a body! Yet the CIRCUMSTANCES surrounding a death can point directly toward it being a homicide. Scott Peterson is sitting on death row because of a circumstantial case. Do you think he should have been found innocent? The jury members in Casey's case were looking for a standard that is not required, they have stated that they had SOME doubts. Reasonable doubt is classified by not being able to explain the outcome in any other reasonable manner that a reasonable person would agree to. I think after tallying all the evidence a reasonable person would see that a murder took place, and that murderer was Casey Anthony.

1- I think a lot of people are angry that NOT reporting a 2yr old missing is NOT a crime (which seems to be the case here in FL, hence signing Caylee's Law) If this is not the case, then how is it not neglect?
2-i think most people responding now UNDERSTAND the reasonable doubt part, doesn't mean the system is perfect (innocent are jailed, CA is free), and so they're reacting to what happened emotionally---i think most know she had something to do with it but they couldn't find enough evidence and/or the state didn't argue it well and/or the jury failed...which brings me to point 3
3- A lot of people are saying the jury decided, they did their job etc...but it is questionable when a juror or jurors are requesting $ now for interviews.
How about a law so that jurors can't be paid for talking about a case they are involved with..so they can actually be fair, their verdict can seem "pure", it would be less of a temptation---who's to say they dont have an alterior motive------ a NG verdict def would pay more here

Re: Casey Anthony trial 1/2 hour n counting.
It's sad how this thread was drama free all 40 days of the trial, but now after the verdict there is nonsense on this board. I also think it is very rude that we can't state our opinions without certain others getting upset that no one thinks like them, even though they have not been commenting in the past. We are ALL entitled to our opinions but we shouldn't be rude about it or act like we know where that opinion is coming from. I'm not assuming because you think she didn't do it, it is because you are guilty of murdering your own child and also want to believe you can be set free. I think it's crazy though to tell people who have been following this case every single day, watching the trial live, religiously and gathering all the presented information- JUST like the JURY, that they are just acting on emotions alone. Are you sure we are not talking to Jose Baez right now? Is he a lurker here on LIF? This is not all about feelings and emotions. I knew nothing about the case until I watched the trial every single day just like the jury. Yes, we saw extra but if the jury wasn't supposed to take it into consideration- neither did I. I still believe there was enough evidence against her, but others feel differently. Yes, I think they are crazy, but I have that right, as do they to let her off the hook. The jurors were 6-6 and that speaks for itself. Most of them did not "see" the stain in trunk or believe George Anthony's testimony. I thought George was incredibly strong and truthful. I believed his testimony. Cindy on the other hand is an entirely different story. I believe Caylee was in the trunk. I believe she partially decomposed in the trunk. I have trust in the detectives and their investigation. The jurors doubted these things, where I chose to believe the evidence presented. The motive they went with resonated with me and I am positive that was at least 75% of her real motive. So I would have said guilty and that's from EVIDENCE not emotion.

I completely agree with everything you said here.
I think people are just being emotinal about this and letting that interfere with how she should have been convicted.
While she probably did do everything the jury felt that the state did not prove this without a reasonable doubt.
They had to put aside thier personal belief and opnion and go only by fact and what exactly the law states.
I would hope you would want the same if you were ever convicted of a crime, esp. if you didnt do it. Cause from everything i have heard on this board i wouldnt want half of you to be on a jury.

I would never put myself in a position like CA where I would be convicted of a crime. I would call if my beautiful children went missing, I certainly wouldn't get a tattoo that screams guilty, I certainly wouldn't lie to law enforcement on several different occasions, I would call every person begging for help the second I couldn't find them, I wouldn't be hitting the clubs, I wouldn't have the smell of chloroform in my car, and I certainly would never have duct taped my children's mouths with duct tape found in my garage. God forbid this ever happened to a loved one of yours, I guarantee you would want half of us on your side of the jury. Just a side note, I would also be jumping on the stand to testify to prove my innocence. I would have nothing at all to hide.

I agree with DB as well. the issue here was the charges that were levied against he and IMO the prosecution did a poor job of deciding what those charges would be. They knew from the beginning that they had little to no real evidence of "blood" on Casey Anthony's hands.

I agree. And I find it interesting that people can possibly makes calls on whether the jury got it right or not. Last time I checked that would be a matter of personal opinion. What one person may consider reasonable doubt, another person may not so I truly don't get all the back and forth. Personally, I don't think they got it right. Doesn't mean I think they were bad jurors or that they did something wrong. I just saw things differently then they did apparently.
And of course people feel emotional and passioniate about this. A beautiful, 2 year old CHILD is dead. Dumped in a swamp and left there to rot. From a 'legal' standpoint having these emotions may not be right or make some of us poor choices for jurors (according to some here) but we are only human.

ITA with both of you. I watched this every.single.day from the beginning for one entire year as it was on that long, not just only the trial or a few days here and there. This is not about emotions but about evidence and there was no evidence to show how this child even died or who put her in the woods. This is not to say that I do not think Casey is innocent (or her father as I think he had a hand in this too).

Re: Casey Anthony trial 1/2 hour n counting.
I am saddened that drama has started on this post, I actually made a post on how it was so nice that we all went thru the whole trial without drama.
We all have opinions and share on here, let's not bash each other for our opinions, agree to disagree. Nothing will change by going back and forth, I watched the whole trial and yes I do feel she is guilty, but my feelings do not matter. The jury's is the only one that counts in this and they have spoken and we all have to live with it. Like it or not, we are stuck with it.
Say a prayer for little Caylee and kiss and hug your own children. JMO

It's sad how this thread was drama free all 40 days of the trial, but now after the verdict there is nonsense on this board. I also think it is very rude that we can't state our opinions without certain others getting upset that no one thinks like them, even though they have not been commenting in the past.
ITA. The original posters were able to be peaceful about their opinions, now some attention seekers need to come and try to ruffle feathers. What is the point?
Obviously nobody can change the ruling but that doesn't negate the emotions that some people are feeling about the injustice of it all. I think you guys need to find another thread to cause drama on.

Re: Casey Anthony trial 1/2 hour n counting.
Maybe the state should have brought up other charges such as child neglect. Not sure if they can do this now.
Honestly everyone is entitled to their own opinion and IMO there was more than enough circumstantial evidence to convict her.
I understand in this day and age that we are all used to high tech stuff like DNA samples and surveillance videos but honestly...does anyone need a picture to be drawn out about what happened? Plenty of criminals were tried 20, 30 years ago way before DNA, surveiillance tapes and all those other fancy things existed. What did we do then?
Bottom line the little girl is left in the care of her own mother, the last person to see her alive. All of a sudden poof she is gone. The mother lies and lies then Caylee is found dead, decomposed in a swamp with a laundry bag from her own home, duct tape from her own house and her own blanket. Mothers car smells of decomposition...mother lies and lies ot her own family about what happened and to police. Come on it's common sense....circumstantial evidence aplenty.
I have a question. What if the same exact circumstances happened but with nanny. What if Casey was really a good mother and left Caylee with a nanny and the same exact circumstances happened. Caylee went missing and her mother is searching for her. The nanny is the last one to see her alive and she lies and said someone kidnapped her then we find out there is a decomposing smell in the nanny's car, body found with items from Nannys home and then the Nannys defense team said it was an accident. Do you think the nanny would have been acquitted too?
Honestly if GOD forbid anything happened to one of my friends or family members I would hope to GOD I would get a jury with a lot more common sense than the one on this trial.
Unfortunately poor Caylee never had a chance...her mother and her entire family has issues. I guess we can go round and round arguing this point but the bottom line is what's done is done. The only thing we can do now is pray for that little girl and hope that some other monster doesn't commit the same crime AND if they do there is some law in place and justice is served.
