Originally she said the nanny had her. So I guess that wouldn't be considered "missing".
thats how they got her for lying... i dont know if it applies but maybe if they had tried her for obstruction of justice they might have gotten a guilty for that too...

She lied about everything. That is why she got the 4 charges of lying.

Forgive me, I don't know if this was already answered, but why was she tried for Premeditated Murder, and not just Murder?
I wonder if there would have been a different outcome if the prosecution didn't have to prove it was pre-meditated.

She was charged with 1st degree which has to either be pre meditated or felony murder. I believe in order for them to try her on the death penalty it had to be this charge.

i dont remember who said it but someone here said that not all the murder counts needed the premeditated to be proven in order to be found guilty...
but i thinkt hey tried premeditated because its a harsher penalty, but im not positive

I still can't believe that they found her NOT guilty of the child abuse charge. She had no idea where her child was...how is that NOT abuse. Plus she lied about where she thought she was. I guess we can talk about this forever...what is done is done. And there will be others.

she was found guilty of all the lying charges if im not mistaken...
i think it would be a stretch to consider not knowing where your child is, child abuse... what if she ran away?

If my 2 year old "Ran Away" and I didn't know where she was, AND I wasn't really looking for her...that would be abuse, but of course like you said she wasn't really missing.
I guess I just think that Lying to police and leading them on a wild goose chase should be considered more than just LYING.

yes, and also her story about how her reason for not reporting Caylee for 31 days was because Caylee was never missing in the first place.. she was already dead.. that, coupled with the prosecution argued, there was no argument that Caylee was already dead..

I am hoping the judge rules that she has to reimburse state for the search efforts. I would imagine that would be sizable sum and would take the joy out of first interview/book deal, etc.!
If I remember correctly the Runaway Bride from a few years ago had to reimburse GA for their costs.

that really annoys me. it was 6-6... and then all switched their minds?? Either they had persistent jurors forcing them to change their vote or really just didn't care at that point and wanted to go home... I'm sorry that is strange to me that everyone was strongly half-half and then it seemed like by around lunch everyone was switching around.... it makes me sick. I'm glad they are haunted by those images. they should be! they let her murderer go free.
But again.... "We didn't know how she died, we didn't know when she died," the juror said of Caylee. "Technically, we didn't even know where she died."
They could not convict her according to the law. This was not a "how I feel" conviction or "what picture I saw" conviction. That is not the law.
(I am not saying she is innocent but totally see why these jurors did what they did).
I definitely get that for the first degree and MAYBE even for the manslaughter though I would have voted yes to that...but the child neglect/abuse? That was pretty obvious. She didn't call 911 to try to save her child from "drowning" in the pool...she didn't even call a neighbor for help. If Caylee did drown in the pool was she alone? Was Casey out and about? Did she encourage her too...why not call 911 to try to save your kids life if you are there. Assuming you are there with your child and watching them how long was she left alone if she drowned or if it was an accident? It's just common sense. That's neglect. Caylee was 2 years old...not 10 or 11. Definitely not capable of watching herself. NEGLECT...whether or not it was an accident. How could the jurors not see that?
ITA
Right. If her and "her dad" found her dead in the pool, who are THEY to assume CPR should not be performed and emergency and authorities NOT be called? That isn't abuse and neglect? Then to supposedly allow her "DAD" to dump the body in the woods??? That is YOUR child, you allow that? How is that NOT abuse and neglect?????
I don't care what anyone says to me about the jurors They made up their minds and I MADE UP MINE. I think they did an AWFUL job. They did not think this out intelligently enough. They let a MURDERER go free without even convicting her of CHILD ABUSE (just b/c no one sat there on the stand saying she didnt "feed" her child and that she didn't have "bruises"). How stupid can you be???? You were JUST told that she did not report her child missing for 31 days, she did not call 911 when the child "supposedly" drowned, and then she allowed her "dad" to dump her CHILD IN THE WOODS to be eaten by animals and like trash???
I am sorry but I can't say it enough, what trial were these jurors listening to? They are FOOLS. They made a mockery of this child's life by setting her MOTHER WHO MURDERED her FREE to party and have a grand old life (and screw up some more lives when she clearly will have kids again).
The more I think about them NOT convicting her of child abuse, the MORE MAD I GET.

...but if opening statements are NOT "testimony" or "evidence" then I'm not sure how they could use the statement that Caylee was already dead in their deliberations.

Manslaughter was an option and they didn't even charge her of that...read the post about the jurors being split 6-6 on manslaughter charges and then they changed their minds
I've been slowly, slowly stepping away from all of the posts/articles/news about it....just a little bit here and there b/c it is too gut wrenching. I just feel sick about it. I signed that Caylee's law petition, I'm not going to buy anything CA's selling...and going to keep enjoying MY DC and try not to let this biiitch take up much more of my life. I am just disheartened by the whole thing.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I can't believe how much this case has impacted me. Like you, I'm going to keep enjoying my sons and be the best mom I can be. I pray that she gets hers one day.

I totally agree. I wake up at night thinking about it. Im 10 weeks pregnant with my first child and I don't understand how any mother could do this to her child. She seems so heartless and not even fazed by anything that is happening to her. I think what gets me is the phone call from jail not even caring about her own daughter. Im trying to back away from it all, its too depressing. I do believe in Karma. I don't think she is going to get out of jail and become this saint of a woman. She seems so angry. I just pray for her daughter and family.

Re: Casey Anthony trial 1/2 hour n counting.
I am just now catching up on this thread and I am so upset by this verdict.
The fact that they are saying it was 6-6....how the hell could 6 jurors back down like that?
That jury panel was a disgrace IMO. They deliberated for 10 hours. How is that possible after all of the evidence that was presented.
The way Casey was today - with a sparkle in her eye - her hair down- and a smirk on her face....she is lucky I don't live in Florida. I hate to say it but that poor baby is better off where she is. So many people try to have kids and can't. So many people have sick kids. So many people have kids that die. This witch had a gorgeous, perfect, healthy child and she killed her AND got away with it. It truly makes me sick.

I do too. Someone is finally speaking FOR Caylee. Maybe next time Casey will be standing under that tree, mourning the loss of her daughter. Oh no, right, she will be a club partying instead.
