Thats how we always grew up. We were allowed to have what we gave up on sundays.....Well according to my grandma
I gave up diet coke...I had it yesterday as part of my grandma's rule

I wasn't taught that there are any breaks. You give up what you give up for 40 days straight.

same for me and my 12 plus years of catholic school, i was taught 40 days sacrifice.

Its supposed to be 40 days but I think my parents used to allow us to have whatever we wanted on Sundays. Probably more for their sanity than anything else.

I am Protestant, but we always gave up something for the entire Lenten season, Sundays included.
Not sure if its different in the Catholic tradition.

For me it's a 40 sacrifice, but DH's family and apparently my grandma (which I just found out this year) say Sundays are okay to cheat.
