Re: Child Support Question??

We're never late or behind. We also pay CS weekly and as far as finances are concerned I consider it another one of our bills. It's the most important bill we pay!! We hand BM a check when we get DD for the weekend. If we don't see her for a particular weekend then we either mail it out or we'll give her a check the week before and post-date it. :

This comment is a bit offiensive. The OP asked that nobody be judgemental. Her question has nothing to do with whether she or any of us are wonderful stepmoms or not, your comment makes it sound like the rest of us are not good stepmoms b/c of the timing of CS checks being sent.

Thank you. I didn't take offense to it and i'm sure she is a wonderful stepmom. I think I am also a wonderful stepmom. What triggered the question was actually something I saw on the news last week about child support not being paid over $5,000, $10,000 - amounts of that sort. So it just sort of got me thinking about what is the "norm."
The way we pay works out for us, while it may work differently for others. We also pay very well ABOVE what we are supposed to pay being that we buy all their clothes, pay for activities, etc. It all works out but I appreciate what you are saying in that I asked if we could not be judgmental. This is an open forum and we should all feel comfortable to be honest and discuss without fear of being bashed.

Re: Child Support Question??
Typically my DH is never behind. He has it deducted from his pay so he doesnt have to worry about it. He's a teacher so things sometimes get screwed up over the summer....(it's usually an error by his employer not us)
My ex is usually tops a week behind. He sends me a check directly and he's usually a few days to a week behind. But never more than 2 weeks...

Re: Child Support Question??
DH is never behind because he has it taken out of his pay so that he wont forget to send it. Its just easier for us that way.
