Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
Did you name your child before you were pregnant? Did you name your child before they were born?
We had some choices of names picked out, but we didn't name Jordana until after she was born. We wanted ot meet her before we named her. She almost left the hospital without a name at all
Just curious of what other people did.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
We had our boy name picked out (DH's father's name, reversed).
We had options on the other names but the final decision was made once they were in our arms.

Did you name your child before you were pregnant? Yes, but we changed our minds when I was pregnant.
Did you name your child before they were born? We didn't know what sex we were having so we had some names picked out for both but we wanted to meet our little one before we made a definite decision.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
We worked on names during the pregnancy. We finalized them (didn't know sex) I think a day or 2 before he was born.
It was the most grueling task I've ever done...DH is far too opinionated and moody over names.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
We knew that if we had a daughter she would be Paige Michelle, and if we had a son it would be Joseph. Once we found out they were two boys we decided on names, but only knew that the first born would be Mattingly. We didn't know which one would come out first though so they didn't each get their name until birth.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
We had our boy's name before we were even engaged. Well, we haven't gotten to use it and DH says if we ever do have a boy, it's out of the running now...why? I don't know.
As for the girls...both were picked at some point during the pregnancies (Abby's at the verrrryyy last minute--39 weeks?), although DH always liked Abigail since before we were married even. However, when she was born, the doctor announced it was a girl, I started crying saying, "It's Abby!" and he said, "Are you sure it's not Margaret?"--his choice.

We picked his name while we were pregnant. We never decided on a girls name so I guess we were lucky he was a boy.

We had both their middle names picked out when I was pg. They didn't have a first name until they were born.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
We disagreed on the name up until the week DD was born (we agreed on a boys name almost from the day I got my BFP, just couldn't settle on a girls name)

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
We didn't name him before we were pregnant (well, joking around we always said if we had a boy it would be Jack Bauer Centonze - we are 24 freaks) but we really decided on the name after we found out we were preggo and when we knew it was a boy.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
Charlie was named after his Dad and Grandfather so we knew from the start that if he was a boy that would be his name.
We also had a girls named picked out 1/2 way through my pregnancy.

I named my DD about 10 years ago. Of course before it became incredibly popular

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
Did you name your child before you were pregnant? No Did you name your child before they were born? We had a boys name picked out for sure and had 2-3 girls names, but Lily was our #1 choice. We actually said her name before we even saw her when she was delivered at the c-section. It totally fit her though.

Re: Naming your child question- spinoff to NFR post
we had a girl name picked out for years, but her middle name was decided by a coin toss after she was born.
A boy name was never finalized - we had it narrowed down to two, and we figured we'd decide after the baby was born (if it was a boy).
