Christening dilemma
I am very torn on who to ask to be godmother for DS2. My sister is godmother for DS1. Although initially I wanted to ask my best friend we don’t speak to each other nearly as much as we used to. Now I am not 100% sure of asking her. Some days I say yes then I think I don’t think it’s a good idea. Lately I am reaching out to her by phone (I always leave voice mail), text, and email and I get no response, which frankly is starting to annoy me. I know she is busy, yet so am I and I still find time to reach out. Anyway, a part of me is leaning towards asking my sister again. Is this normal to do?
ETA: I shouldn’t say is this normal but rather is it okay to have the same godparent for two children.

Re: Christening dilemma
I am in a very similar situation. My BFF is my DS' godmother. Originally we said that when we had another baby that we'd ask DH's cousin (who is like his sister) and her husband (who is one of DH's closest friends) to be godparents. Unfortunately in the last year, they have basically stopped hanging out with us and talking much to us, so we just don't feel comfortable at ALL asking them to be godparents.
Ironically, my brother who I've had issues with over the years, has been really great with DS and you can tell he loves him, plus he's been really nice about my pregnancy and asking about it etc. So now I wonder if we should ask him.
As for godmother, my BFF was SO excited when we announced it's a girl, she said OMG I want to be godmother to a litle girl I love! And I was like hmmmm - so now we don't know if we should ask her to be godmother again or ask someone else. Ugh. Very difficult.
I am no help lol. Just wanted to share you're not alone.

Re: Christening dilemma
I think so! My brother & I both had the same godfather (our uncle). If I were you I'd definitely ask your sister since you know that she'll always be in your lives

Re: Christening dilemma
I was in the exact situation. We decided to ask my sister again. It was the right choice.

I'm glad I'm not alone. I want to make sure we are making the right decision. It's so difficult this time around.

Re: Christening dilemma
I am godmother to two of my sister's kids. I don't think it's that unusual. If that's what you are most comfortable with go for it.
