Constipation in newly potty trained DC
DD has been potty trained with peeing for the past month and doing great! She has yet to do # 2 on the potty She either waits for her pull up to go on during nap/overnight or she has accidents in her underwear. She's been terribly constipated the past few days. I'm thinking it's because she's avoiding having to use the potty to poop (we put her on it consistently to try and poop) and I think it's beginning to stress her out. We've given her prune juice the past day and a half to help loosen her up, but it's not really working too well. What else can I do???

Re: Constipation in newly potty trained DC
Lots of kids hold it in when they start. Then it hurts when they do go so they hold it in more....its an evil cycle.
Talk to your doc about adding fiber for a few days/weeks.
If you can tell when you DC is going #2, rush them to the potty.
Lots of positive reinforcement.

give soluble fiber in every drink...it will make her go...and it wont hurt when she does. My ds has chronic constipation and it works for him.
