Coxsackie moms - fever question
Yesterday DS woke up with a fever. We had a ped appt for something else so while we were there I asked him to check Ryan out.
He has coxsackie.
Ped said fever can last between 2-3 days. This morning he woke up pretty much fever free. Is is possible he just got a mild case and is on the mend already? (I do hope so!)

Re: Coxsackie moms - fever question
I hope so, DD's fever went away after 2 days but she was miserable for a week (she had the sores in her mouth). I do know of other people's DC who had it much less, hopefully your DS is one of those!!

I would still keep an eye on it. My DD had it last month and her fever was on and off.

Same here. Continuous motrin/tylenol back to back to keep fever down.

I would definitely keep an eye on it. Fevers tend to go down or disappear in the mornings but go back up as the day goes on.

Re: Coxsackie moms - fever question
It's possible. When DS got coxsackie, he only had a fever for 1 day. Then the next day it was gone.
But the sores stayed in his mouth for about 5 days. And I needed a doctors note for him to go back to daycare. So he got sent home from daycare on a Friday and I couldn't bring him back until Thursday of the next week.
And for some reason, the sores really didn't seem to bother DS that much nor did he get the sores on his hands or feet.

DS had a fever for 24 hours, and the blisters lasted about 5 days (he had a mild case)

Re: Coxsackie moms - fever question
My son had a low fever on a Sunday night, then higher the next morning. We took him to the doctor. The fever was gone by Monday night, but were told to keep him home from daycare the rest of the week. He was a little sluggish on Tuesday, but the rest of the week he was eating and playing normally.

Re: Coxsackie moms - fever question
Well, so far he still doesn't "technically" have a fever, it's been staying around 99.3. I gave him motrin before bed just in case. I know he needs a good night of sleep.
Hopefully we are at the beginning of the end!
