Re: Critique my menu
It looks like great little bites!
If everyone understands that it's snacks only then you will be 100% fine.
I might skip the potato chips and onion dip - but add a protein and a veg.. only because I'm crazy like that. Maybe shrimp cocktail or chicken satay and a fresh veg crudite.

Re: Critique my menu
Thanks love!
I was thinking I needed a veggie platter, but they're so boring I put that it was an apps and wine candle party, so everyone knows! Maybe a shrimp ring, but I don't eat shrimp

You know how you make the veg not boring? Don't put it on a round platter with a dip in the middle. Pile the veggies up on a square platter and just pretend it's art - some carrots over there... a couple of mushrooms up there.. use the ends of the peppers to look like flowers over the top.. a pile of fresh veggies looks more like a bounty of fresh goodness - rather than a ring of crunchy bland things. ALSO.. you can make different dips for the veg that are easy and take no time. A small cup of tzaziki, a little cup of balsamic with vinegar and herbs, a little bleu cheese. If you set it up to LOOK exciting.. it kind of becomes exciting.
And do the shrimp. It's a HUGE hit even if you hate it. But again..skip the ring. LOL Just roast some shrimp with a little oil and lots of garlic in the oven until cooked through (a few minutes) and then pile them up on a platter with some cocktail sauce and let people dig in. Easy!

Re: Critique my menu
I love that idea for the veggies! I was debating making my homemade tzatziki and pesto, so I can definitely incorporate those.
I'll do your shrimp idea too! I bet people would love it!

Veggies can be fun too if you get a Styrofoam cone from Michael's and cover it with lettuce and use toothpicks to attach your veggies on the "tree".
There's a ton of ideas here:
