Re: Crossover/Small SUV Recs
I also love my Subaru Forester. I'm a huge fan of wagons so I would definitely check some out (I think minivans scream 'soccer mom' more than wagons do.)

Re: Crossover/Small SUV Recs
We are on our third Subaru Forrester (we lease). We love it. We have two car seats in the back, but we never feel like we don't have enough room to store our gear, moreover, we have never had a mechanical problem with any of them.

GMC Terrain-all models come with a backup camera(Go GMC!). The smaller 4 cyl. engine gets 20 MPG City and 29 Hgwy. You can get the SLT1 for 28 which is the leather package with a few extras. It has excellent safety ratings too You can go as little at 25k base and as high as 34k fully loaded.
PS My Acadia is getting 12 MPG Thank goodness it goes in 2 months!

I think this is what I'm going to get when my lease is up...I looked at one and it's soooo nice and very roomy!! The back seat slides fwd and back too.

. I am placing my order in 2 weeks! I just can't decide on a color. I believe the charcoal black is limited because of the Japan crisis. It has some really nice options for the price. This is the lowest my car payment has been in about 10 yrs!! Yay!

We also have the CX9 and love it, but it EATS thru gas.
Why not look at a crossover hybrid? I think the Toyota Venza and Highlander have a hybrid options and so does the Ford Escape...
i have a venza and absolutely love it!!

Re: Crossover/Small SUV Recs
oh you guys are the best!
I was looking at the Arcadia - good to know the gas mileage sucks, I will definitely look into the Terrain. And the Venza. and some wagons.
I hate car shopping - which is why I still have my 04 xterra.

Re: Crossover/Small SUV Recs
I love my Chevy Equinox! It's rated 23 city and 32 highway and I'm averaging about 25.6 right now. It's the smaller version of the Traverse. I highly recommend it if a 5-seater is OK for you, or look at the Traverse if you need something bigger.
