cytotec or d&C
I just came back from the doctors and it looks like I have an empty sack with no heart beat. The doctor has be going for one final scan tomorrow to confirm but he said that it does look good. He gave me the option of taking cytotec, miscarrying naturally or a d &c. I am leaning towards taking the medicine but I am wondering about the experience. I am supposed to be 8 weeks pregnant. Does anyone have any experiences with cytotec? Thanks for the support. It has always been a comfort to read the boards for advice and support.

Re: cytotec or d&C
I took cytotec for what they originally though was a miscarriage. Not much happened with me bc the pregnancy wound up being tubal. But my experience with the drug was 1. It tastes terrible. You have to dissolve it between your gum and cheek. And it's a few pills every 1/2 hr it so (it's been almost a ur since I did it so I'm not sure how many) 2. I got cramping, nausea, some bleeding and spiked a fever.
Like I said, if it was in my uterus I may have had more bleeding/cramping.
It wasn't too terrible for me. It was more mental than anything else

Thanks for your response. I ended up going for the D&C. I had to take one of the cytotec pills a couple of hours before the surgery and then go to the hospital. I am back home recovering. The D&C wasn't terrible physically, the emotional part is wearing me down. Just going to take one day at a time.
