my mom bought the furniture crib bedding and travel system for other than that I have bought just clothes

I bought some stuff. I knew I wasn't having a huge shower (maybe 25-30) so I would need to anyway. I bought her the activity mat, some clothes, some diapers, and her travel system. I waited until the shower after that. Got almost everything else and had to go get the few items I didn't get...boppy, slipcover, bathtub, ultimate crib sheets, mattress pad, and some misc items. HTH

I bought the stroller, because I saw the one we registered for on a really good sale. I also bought the fabric for the bedding because I am making that myself.
Most things I'll wait until after the shower - unless I see another incredible deal

Although my mom is having a small sprinkle for me, I do not expect anyone to buy us anything big. My dh bought me the bugaboo and my mom and dad bought me the baby's furniture. I bought some clothes and will still do that. And then whatever we do not get at the sprinkle we will buy ourselves.

This time around we have to buy everything we need because I am not having another shower.
But for DS, my Mom would buy a lot off my registry if she thought it was going to be discontinued instead of me buying it

I bought some stuff for myself because I did not expect to have a shower. My incredible friends made one for me so we ended up with most of the stuff I would have ended up buying anyway. It was incredibly generous and helpful to us.

i had my shower, but i went to BRU this friday to pick up some things that i did not get that i know i will need for when the baby arrives. my mom and the rest of my family will "clean up" my registry when  is born.

I haven't had my shower yet so I really haven't bought anything yet. Whatever I don't get we will purchase ourselves. Since we don't know the sex my mother will purchase the bedding after  arrives.
ETA: We purchased the furniture ourselves.

I will not be having a shower, so when the time comes, I will start buying things myself and storing them at my IL's house. I'm not going to go crazy however because I know my family and extended family and after the baby comes, I would imagine getting just about everything I need at the bris or baby naming. My sister also has a ton of stuff that my nephew has outgrown (swing, bouncer, etc....)

We are not having a shower, therefore, we are buying everything! I prefer it that way
I did register for a few items at the constant and annoying urging of some friends and relatives.

I think once I know the baby's gender it will be a no hold's barred. I'm too ansy to wait until my shower in November. Plus I am sure most of the time you don't get everything you put in your registry, if I get a few items it won't hurt...lol

my shower is super-late... (I'll be 35 weeks! 
we bought A LOT so far.......
mom bought the crib, we bought the changing table. we also bought:
stroller
infant carseat
clothes
those snap-up sleep sacs (to use instead of blankets)
mobile
stuffed animals
teething ring
lots of disposable supplies (lotions, diapers, wipes, soaps.....)
On the registry are all of the remaining things we need.....

I am still not sure if I am having a shower, so DH and I will most likely buy the crib, bedding, layette, carseat and stroller and see what else rolls in. If we see that we still need stuff around November, we will go out and buy it. The thing that sucks is that we're expecting a Christmas baby, so BRU will be CRAZY. The good thing is that his BF works for SkipHop,so we will get lots of gratis from him!

If my friends want to buy us cute clothes and accessories, I would be grateful but I don't expect any big ticket items.

I am not having a shower. MIL bought our crib and changing table and some clothes. My parents bought our travel system, and will be buying everything else we need after ther the baby is born. My sister bought us our pack and play. My brother and sil are buying us the bouncer (they say). So the major things are really covered. I got diapers from a coworker. I bought some of the other stuff and I have bought a lot of clothes that are so cute.

Since i will not be having a shower and I am going to be on strict bed rest beginning next week we felt it was necessary to purchase some of the big items in advance. My mom purchased the furniture, my MIL and FIL the complete layette and other items. I purchased the car seat, pack and play, glider and ottoman etc. As of right now everything is at my in laws house and the furniture will be delivered closer to my due date.
