My ped. does not recommend it of course unless a parent chooses to give it to them or needed it to enter daycare. He thinks it is too new and being the old vaccine was pulled from the shelves and caused more harm than good in some cases. DS was not a daycare baby so it was not something I was super worried about.

Yes, my DS is in daycare - i don't know how you cannot give it to your child if they are in daycare. If he wasn't in daycare, I would consider not giving it to him.

It wasn't available when Ava was a baby and she got is at 12 months and then again at 18 months and she almost died.
I watched her lay in a hospital bed lifeless- 2 times... I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
She was not in daycare at the time, was home with me in my immaculate house- eating organic foods... there was NOTHING that I could have done at the time to prevent it.
The vaccine (oral) was available for Brody and I was more than happy for him to have it.

- there is no guarantee you won't get it if u do vaccinate.
- ped. didn't require it
i'll take my risk over possible side effects

yes both DC got it. No reaction. DS did get a mild case of Rotovirus when he was a newborn, thank goodness he got it, because it could have been sooo much worse than it was.

I am surprised your ped would say this b/c the vaccine would have provided protection for longer than that one season...
Also, to the OP< Rotovirus can only be given up until 3 or 4 mths old (I forget). Then it can no longer be given.
12 weeks-my kids did not get it

My kids didn't get it. Actually, the practices I went to ( I went to different ones for each at that age) and neither one offered it to but I know they had it.
