Re: Do you agree with this verdict?

I think she should have gotten a long senetnce but life in prison is harsh. There is no excuse for what she did IMO. You left the baby in "impulse". Chat Icon Chat Icon

the judge admits she has shown remorse. I guess to me it seems harsh - life in prison.

Charles Manson is up for parole every so often.

Re: Do you agree with this verdict?

I think I'd need to hear more details of the case, such as her mental status, etc. It says the baby died 5 days later. Did no one find the baby for 5 days? How did she not know she was pregnant?

Re: Do you agree with this verdict?

I think she should be held responsible, but isn't murder by law a premeditated act? I find it hard to believe that she planned her delivery and the leaving of the infant in the bathroom of a Walmart.

I agree with it!

First, she is 27 y/o...not a child...how can she not know she was preggo?? Chat Icon Chat Icon

Second, all she had to do was drop the child off at a hospital and there would have been no questions asked and the child might still be alive today.

I disagree. I think the punishment was perfect. What kind of person would do that? How unfair to the baby. And I don;t believe that she did not know she was pregnant.

I definitely think she belongs in jail, but life? serial killers and rapists can get out sooner.

There are different circumstances. But my point was that you should not say one person should get a lighter sentence just because another murderer got let off easy. States have different laws. That is what i meant about not comparing

Re: Do you agree with this verdict?

IMO, life sentences should be reserved for cold blooded killers. Meaning, pre-mediated, they show no remorse and would do it again.

I really do not believe she deserves that sentence. What she did was heinous! But I don’t think she was trying to kill the baby, she got scared. She’s very stupid, but not a cold blooded murderer.

well i think that if you are found guilty of murder...
you are guilty of murder..
and as a citizen of the great ole US of A

i mean come on...
a chick in Delaware got 5 years for the same thing..

Many murders get less

I see the point of different state laws but a LIFE sentence...

nah....can't see that

But i guess people just gotta know where they can kill and where they cannotChat Icon

I understand what you are saying. But leaving the baby there to die was pretty cold blooded, IMO.

Re: Do you agree with this verdict?

The article is a little vague, so I would need to see more, but as it stands, I would have to say no.
