Do you buy duplicates of items?
If you find an item (like a shirt) that you really like, do you buy extras as backup?
I have a shirt that I like from LOFT, and I wonder if I should buy a backup or two... my husband thinks that I am insane. (PS I found the "backup" shirt on eBay for $17)

Sometimes I do! Or I'll buy the same dress or sweater in different colors. I call myself "Homer Simpson" when I do this...same outfits over and over

Normally, I don't... but I had this shirt that I got from Loft LAST year, that I loved... I wear it all the time. Its just a cream colored loose fitting cami. Well, it got super dingy AND I got pen on it, but thank God Loft came out w/a very similar one this year. I bought it. I love it. I have probably already worn it 10 times. I feel like I should pick up 2 just to keep hidden away if/when this one gets gross.

i have 5 pairs of the same jeans and multiples on a few pairs of shorts. its a must. theres a dress i have at express that i LOVE. i wear it a lot ( its an everyday type of dress) and no longer in stores. i begged my bf to ask around his office to see if he can pull some strings to get me another one if they have it in storage. his response " you snooze, you loose!"
if you llike something, buy multiples! once its out of production, THATS IT.

Yes. I started to do that with shoes because I am hard to fit & have flat feet. Now if I like something I buy more than one and I may buy several colors. I don't spend as mind time shopping as I used to and this helps.

Yes.
It seems to be the rule that once you find something you love, they stop making it.
I do this with a lot of things for work especially, like well fitting pants.
I also found jeans at ON of all places that I loved the fit this season, so I bought a few pair in different washes.

I buy duplicate or even triples of white t shirts when I find one that I like. I love Banana's white t's. White t's get ruined so easily.
ETA: I only do this with wardrobe staples... cami's, T's, etc. Not with more stand out items.

I buy duplicates sometimes multiples of cardigans (mostly different colors). It's a staple in my wardrobe, so I always stock up when I find a good one

I've bought a pair of flats in 2 colors because they were so comfortable. Dont really do that with clothes though.

I did for a while but stopped because I found two of the same item don't fit the same exactly and I would keep using the one that fits better.

Nope, I don't think yo'ure insane at all and I do it. I've even done it on accident, ended up with two pairs of the same exact running sneakers but in my defense, they are awesome and I forgot I had them lol

I frequently buy the same thing in different colors or patterns--usually no more than 2 at a time though.
I am considering buying the sandals I have been wearing all summer in the exact same color so I have them for next year. I walk all over the place, so all of my shoes wear down quickly. I have never done that before, but I hate spending half the summer searching for new sandals.
I would do it with clothes, but my weight fluctuates.

That's exactly what I do! That way, each of the garments lasts longer since I don't wear it as often, having one in a different color readily available.

I just did this. Multiples of Banana Republic Gemma dresses and 4 pairs of legging jeans. When something fits I stick up.
