manners are important -
DS is almost 3 - he asked very nicely for grapes yesterday. My mom got up from the table (to maker herself tea). DS said, "Oh, Thank You Grandma" b/c he thought she was getting the grapes.
He says thank you for making his dinner, TY for cutting his dinner... very polite.

When Joe was asking for things in the store, I used to say "Do you want an Oompa Loompa too?" which was code for you're being a brat, knock it off.
