Do you have carpet or wood floors in your bedroom?

i am kinda moving towards carpet to go in our new place. i love getting out of bed and stepping on a soft carpet instead of a cold hard floor i currently have hardwood in my apt and not too crazy about it

pros/cons?

well for me as an allergy/sinus sufferer, I would prefer hardwood floors. Right now we have carpet b/c we haven't redone our bedroom yet (and plus we have old creaky wood floors!). Once we move our bedroom upstairs we'll be putting in all new flooring, so it will definitely be hardwood, possibly with an area rug in the room so I can change it out when I choose.

We have wood floors on the 1st and 2nd floors. All bedrooms are wood and honestly i do not find them cold at all.
I thought i would but they stay pretty room temperature

I love the wood, and its really easy to clean and maintain. And if my dog has an accident i just get a paper towel and wipe it up.

I have both but voted for Hardwood becuase thats what I would recommend. I currently have carpet in the bedrooms. But now I wished when I first moved in that we did hardwood througought. Hardwood is easier to maintain and is a selling point in the future if that applies.

But I know what you mean about having the cushy carpet to step on, I will miss it when I rip it out.

We have hardwoods throughout the main living area in our house including bedrooms. When we first moved in, I thought the same to you & fought DH to get carpets in the bedrooms. I am so glad I didn't. I do not find the floors cold at all, room temperature most of the time. Plus the cleaning is just so much eaiser then carpets.

I have hard wood...but a rug under my bed so it doesnt slide around....

Carpet. I have hardwood in the office, and while it's nice in there, I can't imagine having that in the bedroom.... even if it isn't cold to the touch, I think it adds a cold atmosphere to the room.

all hardwood floors,. no carpeting.. It skeeves me out

Our entire upstairs is all hardwood, but it's covered with carpet right now. When the carpet needs replacing I want to rip it up and refinish the floors instead.

we have carpet in our bedroom but then again I am not a fan of hardwood floors.

Carpet. I like carpet in the bedrooms, but if the bedroom had hardwoods to begin with I would just have gotten a big area rug.

hardwood with an area rug. we also have hardwoods throughout the whole house with area rugs in some rooms.

we have carpet in our bedroom.. i love it for the fact of the warmth! i am always so cold.. so in the winter its really nice and cozy!
an area rug wont do it for me.

We have hardwood floors, but we decided to carpet for 2 reasons:
1. During winter, it keeps in the warmth
2. We didn't want the furniture to scratch the floors since we move furniture around as it suits our needs.

We kept the hardwood in the closet.

I have hardwoods in halls, kitchen, dining. Will replace livingroom with hardwood. However, all bedrooms are carpeted. I prefer carpet in bedrooms.

I love hardwood and DH is a carpet junkie. (I think he'd carpet our bathroom if I'd let him). We compromised, and our bedrooms are all carpeted, while the rest of the house is tile or wood floors.

I love getting out of bed and stepping onto carpet.

All our bedrooms have carpet - plus for our future kids - it will help the noise factor.

I know two people with hardwood in their bedrooms and even with their area rugs, the hardwood just looks cold to me. Cold as in not warm and inviting.

It's really personal preference.

I just purchased my home and the only room that has carpet is the master.

I guess the sellers didn't want to step down to cold wood floors but didn't care if their kids did

I like the carpet but I would have liked the wood too.
