Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
I know there are many many people that live paycheck to paycheck and it's not something people are proud of but are in this situation for one reason or another. Yes, we all realize the importance to save money, but sometimes there are things beyond your control that you end up in this lifestyle. I'm just curious to know how many people are in this situation.

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
Yes, and will be for the next few weeks while I am out on maternity leave (if this baby ever shows up).
We have a lot of CC debt from DH's old business, otherwise we would have more in savings. Not a big deal, because for us, living paycheck to paycheck is still comfortable, as we DO have savings in case of an emergency, and we have everything we need in our home

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
We have been paying off a lot of debt recently. Once the money comes in, it's been going back out It will be really nice when we don't have these bills anymore!

We do not. We are cheap and hence we save a lot of cash that way!

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
not usually but DH had been layed off in May- he thankfully got a new job in October- but we had a little catching up to do
Part of the reason is also because we have very aggressive savings goals- we each put away 1/3 of our check, then 1/3 goes to mortgage/maintence and the rest is assorted bills/living expenses and my shoe problem

No, but we live like we do. We put a nice chunk of money into savings each month and have no CC debt (finally!!), but we keep very little in checking for us to live with after the bills are paid.

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
Yes we do, but that will change in May when DH starts a FT job. He's not completely happy about giving up his law practice, but being solo is just not stable enough for us. When I pay the bills, I never know how much he's going to contribute and it's so nerve wrecking.

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
Yes, unfortunatley, we do. Thanks to my maternity leave being longer than I had planned and then DH's hours were cut to part time one month after the twins were born, things have gotten tough for us. But, DH heard rumors at work that he may be getting called back to full time by the end of this month.
Also, thanks to our two new exemptions and our wonderful accountant we will be able to start to replenish our savings with our tax refund.

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
Right now YES. DH is unemployed and UE just doesn't cut it. Can't wait until we can start saving again. Everything has been on the back burner ex: having a baby, moving, retirement, etc.
It's very frustrating but, I'm learning that life only throws you what you can handle. Everything happens for a reason.

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
we haven't been saving for a while, just spending our savings/paychecks on improvements on the house. Now we paying off CC debt and we plan on next month stashing money back into savings.
it was more important for us to get our house in a condition we could live in then have a savings. We have a small buffer just in case something happens.
i honestly don't know how people put away more then a few hundred a month in savings but then again we make well under 100K a year.

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
after tomorrow - NO
it's been a long 3 months- but it was worth it- I became a Full time realtor on 12/2 and closed on my first house on 3/2
and tomorrow I get my check
and I will have another closing in the next couple of weeks that is a really nice check
I wasn't sure I was going to make it- I had to borrow from the bank of DAD but I love my new job and my hard work is paying off!

Not anymore. Stopped buying stuff we
don't need & try to save $ where ever
we can & don't use CC unless its an
emergency.

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
It's funny that you ask this because I was just thinking about posting this question yesterday.
Yes, unfortunately we do live check to check. I think once we get out from under the CC debt we will be able to save that money but who knows. We are currently TTC and I know that once a baby does come we will have other expenses. So we may never be able to save.
I just wish we lived in a place where one paycheck was enough to pay the bills and the other paycheck could be saved. But I don't think that will ever happen.

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
Not quite---a little better than paycheck to paycheck but not wealthy either. We have been eliminating our debt and it's coming to the end, and hopefully we'll be able to buy a house in the next year or so. ::fingers crossed!::

Re: Do you live paycheck to paycheck?
not quite that bad, but not the fun & free life we had before Dh got laid off a loooong time ago...we have really changed our lifestyle to fit our current means to avoid debt (and it suucks but that's life)...hoping it will end soon if I get a position I am in the running for!

we are the same.. we live like we are paycheck to paycheck in that if we spend the money and have to wait for another c heck, we do- instead of tapping into savings, which is a no-no

Us too. Savings is not ever to be touched for regular expenses.
