It's been posted before but I went to school with Mariah Carey. Also in the same school was a minor actress from ER (Dr. Greene's ex-wife, Jen) and an author (Karin Cook).
I've met numerous well-known people (celebrities, captains of industry types, ambassadors, politicians, etc) from my events. I've been to cocktail parties at their houses, helped plan their personal christmas parties, etc but wouldn't say I really *KNOW * them.
Oh - and Terry from this past Amazing Race is my co-worker.

I dont know if this counts But My cousin is in the band of Meatloaf he is the Drummer for them and I actually met the whole band "BUTMeatloaf" he is too Private of a person and he alway's wants my cousin's wife to make peacan pie for him.

My uncle went to school with & played in a band with Brian Setzer....so we used to "know" him when we were kids!! We'd visit with my uncle!
My other uncle is friends with Randy Jackson (the band Zebra) and Bobby Rondinelli (the drummer of Rainbow, he also played with Black Sabbath!).
Funny! I went to ballet for years with the daughter of Felix Hanneman of Zebra. Aside from that, the only famous people are baseball; my father played first base for the LA Dodgers...he knows lots of athletes from back in the day.
And...we don't "know" him, but my dad was doing some work at MGM Studios and ran into Matt Dillon. My dad didn't know he was an actor, but actually said: "You look familiar. Do I know you?" *dies*
Dillon goes, "Well, I'm sort of famous." My dad proceeds to say that he's sure his daughter must know who he is, so he calls from his cell and puts me on with Matt Dillon. I wanted to kill him.

Pseudo famous- I am good friends with someone who's husband (Jordan Leeds) played the lead role for years in "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" off Broadway. He's also been on all the law shows on TV.
My grandfather was friends with Tony Danza's family. Even went to Tony's Christening.
My Grandfather also sang with Tony Bennett.
I went to school with Alan Watson former Met or Yankee player...don't remember.

My grandfather's cousin was Herschel Bernardi...cousin Heschie to me
He did TONS of things...but probably most famous for being "Charly" in the Starkist commercials, and "The Jolly Green Giant"...
He was also Lt Jacoby in Peter Gunn, on broadway in Fiddler and Zorba...

the only person i know is federico castelluchio-he played on the sopranos-he was in a few of my fathers friends movies that he directed.

My brother is a record producer, so I am close with K7,lol! I have met Mark Wahlberg, Rosie Perez, Mary J, Usher, Madonna.

We have a friend that is a character actor, so I have met a bunch of people whose names I don't remember, but their voices I know.
DH played HS baseball with Rich Aurilia (formerly of the SF Giants, not sure if he is signed anywhere for the upcoming season yet)

I went to High School with Jai Rodriguez (Queer Eye) and Steve Rannazzisi (from Punk'd and new TV show "Big Day")
I thought I remember you saying you went to smithtown hs? did you? If so, then I might know these people too...
My cousin is not well-known, but she was in MANY broadway plays and plays in chicago and she was in several movies such as City Slickers and Die Hard 2. One of her biggest tv roles was in a Lifetime Movie-In a Child's Name-she was the wife who was murdered by her husband -Valerie Bertonelli was in it too

One of my ex coworkers is married to a Jet.
Also, not that he is really famous, but I went to elementary school with Eddie McGee, who won the first season of Big Brother.
My uncle was friends with the guys from Three Dog Night when he was younger (you know, Joy to the World, Joy to the Fishes in the deep blue sea, and joy to you and me).
My mother-in-law went out with Jay Black (from Jay Black and the Americans)

Nope...the Long Island based band "Zebra"! They did songs like "Tell Me What You Want" and "One More Chance".
ETA...that both of these bands mentioned are more local & pretty oldschool too!
DAMN IT!! Now I have Tell Me What You Want" stcuk in my head!!

Tunstall...My brother is good friends with country singer Dierks Bentley and they went to high school together...I went to college with and was friends with Jamie from the real world...I worked in the White House when Clinton was in office so I know Bill and Hilary, Janet Reno, and I interviewed and know Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I planned parties for the White House so I met tons of celebrities, but they wouldn't recognize me. I interviewed Kevin Bacon too...He lived in the town where I went to high school.
