One of my best friends is a model and she dated Josh Harnett last year and replied "yes" to my wedding and that he was her date
Then, it turned out he was cheating on Scarlett Johansen with my friend!

I went to HS with, and was in a play with Idina Menzel from "Rent" & "Wicked" 
hey me too. I was in an afterschool singing group with her too. Also Adam Pascal.

I've met a few celebrities, but that doesn't count as knowing them.
My step-mother went to school with Billy Joel and knew him rather well back in the day. I guess that doesn't count either!

Charles Koppleman from Martha Stewart Apprentice.
His son, Brian, wrote Rounders and Knockaround Guys. He once put my sister on the phone with Seth Green.
I used to know Dan Milano - he is "Greg the Bunny" and does some stuff for Robot Chicken.

I used to feel like I 'knew' Armand Assante because he was dating a co-worker and I would answer her phone sometimes and 'talk' to him (as in take a message!) and she introduced us once.

I can never get this straight but...DH's grandmother knew the parents of either Dolce or Gabana. I just think that is really cool for her...otherwise..I don't know anyone.

One of my friends from grad school is a VJ on MTV 2 - Jim Shearer - he was always the most fun person to hang out with....very down to earth. We lost touch a few years ago, but even after he started at MTV he was extremely down to earth.
In my old job I used to meet celebrities all of the time, but I don't know them to hang out with them or anything...lets see I've met a lot of news people (Katie Couric, Tim Russert), other MTV VJ's, Josh Groban, Regis & Kelly...
Some of my former students are now playing sports professionally - most are in the minor leagues, but I have one on the Boston Red Sox, and quite a few playing Major League Soccer. A few more have a good change of going to the olympics next year, and hopefully some to the NBA.

Not so famous, but Kevin Covais (last season't American idal finalist) is a former student of mine
If you work in Covais' high school, I graduated from there. Eddie Money also was a student at my HS. My social studies teacher (Mr. Amato - very cool guy) used to tell us about him, that he borrowed money from everyone to launch his career. And when he got his hit, he actually paid everyone back. 
I don't know anyone famous personally. But my father in law drives around high profile people and tells us about them, if they're nice or not. I posted a few weeks ago about Martin Scorcese, that DH relayed a message to him about how he liked "The Departed". Marty also gave my FIL a DVD copy of a documentary he made on Bob Dylan for DH, because my FIL mentioned to him that his son likes Bob.
Sheryl Crow also requests my FIL specifically for awards shows and stuff. He says she's a very nice person.

Forgot to say - my Dad used to be Martina Navratilova's bodyguard for the US Open in Flushing.
My uncle owned the company that provided security back in the 80's and I met Jimmy Connors (and almost got hit by a tennis racket he threw), John McEnroe, Chris Evert Lloyd. Dad met Johnny Carson, all the sportscasters for CBS, etc.

I used to be in a band with a guy who played with Eddier Money (Mahoney back then I think) when they were in HS. This same guy's grandfather helped to plan & build Levittown. He is old enough to be my father, but is a kick a$$ guitar player.

I've known lots of political famous people. My cousin is Sean Hannity from "Hannity and Colmes". I have got to hang out with Oliver North and Colmes, and many of them.
Because i go backstage at his Freedom concert, I have hung out with Daryl Worley(country singer), Martina McBride, Gary Sinese from Forest Gump, Susan( from All my children,? ohh and Anne Coullter(author).....theres a bunch more but honestly I am not too big into politics to remember their names...lol

My uncle is Rob Bartlets manager ( he is on Immus in the morning, small parts on Law and order, and he does alot of broadway and stand up)
Debi Mazar- from Entourage- lived with my Uncle when she was 17- my Uncle is her Legal Guardian- but I haven't met her yet- it's annoying

I have hung out with Danny from Who's The Boss. I met his boyfriend before people knew he was out. My friend from the Shore was his neighbor, that's how I know him.
I went to college with Eddie George from the Tennesse Titans. He is a great guy! I actually met him in Downtown Columbus and took a picture with him. I was wasted so I gave him my real number and we ended up hanging out for awhile before he graduated. 
My friends from high school include a pitcher for the Minn. Twins, a benchwarmer NHL guy and a former NFL player. My main claim to fame was the 7th grade Toronto trip...(don't ask) I ended up handcuffed to the cutest kid in my grade and now he is a pitcher for the Twins. Long story short, it involved beer and a pair of handcuffs in another nation. I also went to school with one of Puff Diddy Daddy (Sean Combs) new artist, Cherise.

Nope...the Long Island based band "Zebra"! They did songs like "Tell Me What You Want" and "One More Chance".
ETA...that both of these bands mentioned are more local & pretty oldschool too!

DH best friend is a cousin of Steve West - the drummer from the LI hair metal/rock band Danger Danger. DH used to see him at his friends house all the time and I've met him a handful of times at parties with the guy's family. He's a nice guy.
(I personally wasn't into that kind of music so I wasn't aware of the band until I started dating DH, but since they are from LI, I figured some people here might remember them. )
ETA - oh, and Emma Wilson - daughter of Anne Robinson (the host of The Weakest Link) - is also friends with the previously mentioned DH's best friend. She came with him to our wedding and we'd met her on a few other occasions.

Grew up with Alfonso Ribiero.We used to be in plays together when we were kids. I was also freidnly with his brothers. Haven't seen him in forever.
We get a lot of celbrities doing the JFK-LAx flights. ( I guess that doesn't count as knowing them- I love to see how they are)

No. I didn't! He was a no show!! (actually, he was my ONLY no show!!) I do have the RSVP card with his name on it though!!!
We were seriously in the bridal suite staring downstairs trying to see him walk in.
Its sad because Bianca really liked him.

When I was in College I used to waitress at "Captain America's" and often served The Edge (U2) and his family. That was when he was with his first wife...
Also, my parents' friend owned a pub called the Blue Light and Adam Clayton drank there regularly. In fact, he was caught buing pot in the parking lot I met him there once or twice.

George Lamond sang at my wedding (lol) I wanted to go see him Friday at Mirage but never made it.
