Do you shop Wal Mart??
I ask because DH and I watched this documentary about Wal Mart a few weeks ago and I have to say after watching it I will NEVER step foot in another store again. I t was just amazing that a multi billion dollar company treats their employees like such crap.

i will on occassion, but i try not to... i like target SOO much better! it just seems cleaner, and just a little less crowded than walmart...

i've seen that documentary and i try not to go there at all. my SIL loves that place and when she and my brother were down for thanksgiving--she wanted to go there and we took them. i admit i broke down and bought some wrapping paper and a few christmas ornaments!

I prefer Target, but sometimes I will pick up stuff in Walmart if Target doesn't have it, like inexpensive fabric and other craft supplies.
It amazes me how much press Walmart's treatment of their employees gets, yet Disney is just as bad (or at least was while Eisner was at the helm, I haven't read up on them since he left) and nobody ever seems to bring that up.

Yes, I shop there. While I may not agree with some of their HR practices (if you can call them that), it's so affordable and with my financial security a little shakey and with a wedding coming up, I need to be as thrifty as possible.
ETA: What documentary is this that you're all talking about??

I used to work with a company who did business with Walmart. I was told by corporate employees that the divorce rates amongest employees is shockingly high.
I was also told Saturday is a practically a mandatory work day for corporate employees.

I do not shop there because the one by me is trash. I am scared to go in the parking lot without DH. I have gone to a Super WM by Fort Drum and it was nice but we only went there because there was no other options in the stix.

no. never have, never will. DH did when he was in training in GA but only because there was no place else for him to shop. aside from how they treat their employees, their products are crap. i get skeeved out just walking in that store.

No, but aside for that, I think the company should be ashamed of it's practices towards smaller towns and Mom& Pop shops. That is the reason I don't shop at Wal Mart and this is prior to the documentary.
