My DH requested that I no longer shop there. That was last Decemeber and I have been Walmart free since then!!

His reasoning ( and I agree) is based on the treatment of the employees amongst a list of other things.

The company I work for does business w/ Walmart. It is good for business but also scary b/c on the flip side they can really damage your business if they feel like it.

I am calling stores all day long all around the US and the employees I come in contact everyday are some of the nicest staff around. Most of the ppl I talk to are outside the tri-state area - especially middle America.

They are hard working and enthusiastic. Each call made to Walmart is recorded "for quality service purposes" so I'm always careful what I say to them & I am sure they do the same when talking to me. I did say the F word once while waiting for the manager to come to phone - I spilled my coffee!

BUT I don't shop there at all. I can't stand the one in Westbury. It's a mess and I feel like I need to take a shower when I leave.

I LOVE walmart, and I registered there for my wedding. I know I know, but the prices for small appliances, and dinnerware/glasses/curtains was amazing so we did. I know they do crappy things, but I can't not shop there.....the prices are to go

I haven't seen the documentary yet but I would like to...

With that said, Yes I do shop there and save a $hitload of money.....

I love Target so much better but when you are on a budget and need stuff, it's the best place to go.

Now, when I watch that documentary, this may change!

I haven't seen the documentary but I loathe Walmart. I've hated every one that I've stepped foot in and have never bought anything there.

My DH hates when I go there. I too saw the documentary and it kept me away for awhile but there are some things I need and dont have the time to run all over to get and they are all at Walmart. There are things they have that Target doesnt and it would involve going to several other stores. I try not to bc I know that their business practices s*ck but when faced with time issues on shopping and running errands, one stop for everything vs 3 or 4 different stores is very hard to pass up.

ETA: I do want to share that Target has it's own shady practices too. I can't sit here and give a whole rundown but I know someone who use to work for them on a store manager level and they left a whole heck of a lot to be desired as well. Not justifying Walmart as in "everyone does it" but just throwing it out there bc Target seems to be the big choice or where to go besides Walmart.

I shopped at the Wal Mart by me for the 1st time in years and will never go there again. And to be honest, I very RARELY shop at K-Mart or Target. I happen to hate Target.

The supermarket that I shop at here (Asda) is a Wal Mart company) they don't have the same kind of practices here in the UK as far as I know, they are meant to be quite a good employers.

I've shpped there once or twice. My DH hates when I go there because Walmart is very anti-union and he's a union worker.

I've found that on LI Walmarts start out nice and clean but given a few months they get really gross. I remember going to the Centerreach store and the shelves and products were covered in dirt and dust. It was pretty gross.

No. My sister used to work there when they first came to NY and the horror stories she used to tell me...... Unfortunately, she told me after I bought my glider there & referred a whole bunch of people to buy that glider...

i personally dont like walmart. i called last week to find out if they had something in stock and spent 25 minutes on the phone being transfered to all differnet depts. and still got no help. went to the store and couldnt get help. their customer service is horrible.

I do shop there and will continue to shop there, but generally I prefer Target.

My sister has tried to conform me from shopping there, but I must say that I shop there all the time. The one that I shop at is for the most part clean all the time, and it's so convenient that everything is in one store!
