Re: Do you think we, as parents, rush our kids to grow up
I don't know if I would say it a rush to grow up but more of a pressure to get them to fit in to a certain box because everyone else is doing it.
For example, the pacifier. Peds want it gone by 18 months but why if it isn't impeding speech or other developmental milestones, why take away an item of comfort.

Re: Do you think we, as parents, rush our kids to grow up
I think some parents push their kids, so they can say oh my kid did this at such and such age. I only feel strongly about certain things, and that's what I push.
I took paci away at 6 months I want to potty train DS when he turns 2
on the other hand, these things are not as important to me
he is 18 months adn still drinks milk out of bottles
he is just starting to eat more and more table food
as far as STTN, he is 18 months and still doesn't sleep through

Yes, I am so anxious to see them move onto the next thing...whether it's a milestone, table food, clap, etc...but, not really to brag how early they have done it...I just love to see them do new things.
This is how I feel as well...
