DOE teachers- payroll question

When is the first paycheck for the new school year? I resigned, effective the 2012-2013 school year, and today I got a letter stating that they stopped payment on the check dated 8/31. I am hoping that's the first check of the new school year and not the last check of the prior year.

I could call my old payroll secretary, but she's not the most helpful.

From what I understand, our first paycheck of the year, was Friday.

The summer checks, again from my understanding, are from the previous school year.
