Does anyone else feel like their 2nd child got jipped
When AJ was born last year he got so many nice sentimental gifts. I am talking about things that most people probably wouldn’t go out and buy their own children. These things are hanging in his room, on his shelves or in my curio. They are special to me and I hope he appreciates them when he gets older. Well now that DD was born almost 2 weeks ago I feel like she is getting jipped. The same family members that got AJ the sentimental gifts are just giving her checks. I know I can go buy them myself but it isn’t the same. I feel like she won’t have any of these special sentimental gifts like her brother has. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful but it is bothering me.

Re: Does anyone else feel like their 2nd child got jipped
yes, I never understood this.
This is why I don't plan on using all the same clothes as DS if I have another boy.
If I have another boy I don't want baby #2 to see all his pics and feel he would just have the leftover and wearing the same clothes that DS#1 wore in his pics.
I also bought some clothes with DS in mind and how it would fit him.
I want potential DS #2 to feel I put some thougths into him.

I think our DC kind of evened out. The 2nd gets less, but girls usually get more than boys, so by having a girl 2nd, the two sides balance each other....

I feel that way. My dd has a handmade blanket from both grandmas but ds has none. I'm very upset by that and mentioned it to my mom. I'm hoping that she makes him one.

Re: Does anyone else feel like their 2nd child got jipped
Not really. DS got the same treatment - we got so much stuff. Not as many people came to meet him immediately, but I'm okay with that. As families grow it's harder to get together but everyone came eventually and seemed to be equally excited.
I would much rather gift cards this time around because they outgrow so much of the clothes they get so quickly!

Re: Does anyone else feel like their 2nd child got jipped
Lucky that hasn't happened. I would be upset too if it did. My MIL made all 3 of my children baby blankets. She was a little late giving it to my 3rd child (my DD was a couple months old by the time she finished it) but she still got one.
