Due to Sandy - where are you sleeping?
Due to fear of trees falling, last time we slept in the basement. DH thinks its going overboard.... Are you sleeping in your own rooms or sleeping elsewhere?

We have no basement and we are on the second floor.
We are moving the boys into our room. We have one window in there and the only tree near it I hope makes it but the windows are boarded.
The boys room has 2 windows and all near trees so we had to move them out of there.
DH and I will sleep on the floor in the hallway. no windows and near the boys in our room.

We normally sleep on the second floor, but we'll probably pull out the sofa bed and sleep in the living room. If we are evacuated I'll probably go to my aunt's house.

In my bed. One I don't have a basement and 2 I have lived through tornados in the Midwest and never had to sleep in the basement. I agree with your DH.

We are in an apartment so we don't have many options. There aren't any trees near any of our windows so I will be in my bedroom. The only change we will make is if the rain/win is very loud, I am a suck and will let the dog come into bed with us because he gets scared.

Probably in our bedroom on the second floor. The only large tree nearby is on the north side and with the winds coming from the south & east it would most likely fall away from the house. Contingency plan is the guest room on the ground floor, south east corner. We can easily move down there if it gets scary.

Last time, we set up a tent in the living room and "slept" there. Our bedrooms are upstairs and we have trees all around our house. We started out up there and then I got nervous listening to the wind whipping around.
I hope it's not as bad this time because it's literally impossible to sleep with a 5 year old in a tent on an air mattress....

I just informed my DH that I will be sleeping in the living room on our sofa bed and he agreed. We have trees all around our house (but not OURS...grrr) and many of them don't look very healthy. Our bedroom is what was once the attic so we are RIGHT there with the trees. It freaks me out.

This is us too! It's the neighbor's trees. Every single storm a tree knocks down sections of my fence, and I pay to fix it. Sucks but whatever, could be worse right?

We have no trees around our house so we will be in our rooms. If ts so bad, we will sleep in the kitchen, foyer bc my DH boarded those windows.
I'm prepared to leave with the boys if we lose power for more then 7 days.

We are living in a mobile home right now since our house in under condtruction due to a fire. I do not think it is safe to stay in lol. I guess its to MIL's we go

There is a MASSIVE tree that is almost dead and sways with every normal storm on my neighbors property. Depending on how it falls, it could EASILY decimate my upstairs dormer. My bedroom would be crushed.
Maybe I'm overly cautious or ridiculous or whatever.. but I'm not taking chances with the lives of my kids. You can roll your eyes at me all you want.. I'll be having a camping party with the kids in the living room or the basement.

In our bedroom on the second floor. The trees that are close to our house are kind of short so I'm not worried about them. I'm more concerned with them taking down a section of fence.

On our first floor tomorrow night. We usually sleep upstairs but there is a huge tree right behind us. During Irene, my sister (who had a tree in the same location at her house) had a tree come down and take down their deck and roof in the back of their house. Thankfully they were sleeping in their living room.

You know I was just thinking of that this morning and thought I was overreacting - after reading this we will probably sleep in living room- our neighbor has a humongous tree and if it were to fall our bedrooms would be crushed.
