Ethical Question...to tell or not to tell?
So let's say you went to Friday's with your DH last night.
It was happy hour, so the bar area was full and you were seated near it and could see the drunk people.
And let's say that you saw a co-worker's husband there.
He was with a group of people, but really seemed to be "with" one woman in particular...and it wasn't your co-worker.
And let's further say that when you got up to go to the bathroom, you saw this co-worker's husband and the random chickie with him making out in the phone booth.
(So classy, I know!!)
As a side note, you don't particularly like this co-worker and she doesn't particularly like you but you work pretty closely together.
Do you tell her or stay faaaar away from it?

I would stay out of it.... especially since you are not close to her and don't even particularly like her. You don't know how people will take this sort of thing, she could turn it around and take it out on you saying you made it up, etc.
If she was a close friend, I might want to tell her though.

for all you know- -they have an open marriage or are going through a separation where they are seeing other people. Definitely stay out of it-- as it just opens up a can of worms-- either by causing problems in the marriage or by bringing a situation to light that this woman is not ready to talk about.

Re: Ethical Question...to tell or not to tell?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
It's hard because she is one of these BRAGGY women who are always going on about what their DH's bought them and how great they are and tries to put my DH down (who works with us too).
It's so tempting to bring her down a peg or two, but I know that's not the reason I should do it.
I keep thinking about if things were reversed would I want to know from her.

Re: Ethical Question...to tell or not to tell?
I wouldn't say anything.
On a side note, she could take things out on the messenger, be vindictive, and there might go the messenger's work relationships, and possibly job.

I think she probably knows there are problems in her marriage and that's why she act like she does. It sucks to be married to someone like that.

Re: Ethical Question...to tell or not to tell?
I wouldn't say anything sicne she's not a close friend.
I know you would like to bring her down a peg or two, but for now just be happy inside knowing her life is far from perfect.

Re: Ethical Question...to tell or not to tell?
Never in a million years would I stay out of it. I'd want to know if it happened to me.
I'd just say "Hi Mary. I saw Jim at Fridays last night with his coworkers, or maybe they were his friends. I didn't get a chance to say hello to him, though"

I would definitely stay out of it. He'll deny it, she'll believe him and it will make your life at work more difficult.
