Explaining Loss of Pet to a 2 year old?????
Emma LOVES animals and i mean, LOVES....
Dave's parents have a cat....she worships at this cats' feet. she sees photos of grandma & grandpa and says 'mo mo' (the cat was elmo). we say we're going to grandma & grandpa's and she says, 'mo mo'.
Well, mo mo was put down yesterday...we're supposed to see his parents at the end of the week and i know darn well the instant we walk into that house, she'll look for mo mo...
what do we say? if we say he's sleeping, she'll want to go kiss him night night (she's done it before)...
thoughts??

I'm a Kindergarten Teacher and I have a wonderful book I read to my students about the loss of a pet. It's called Goodbye Mousie by Robie H. Harris.
