By the way- her real last name is Hershlag  lol I guess her agent told her to change that! She went with her, I believe, Grandmother's or Mother's maiden name which is Portman.
and her father is a doctor on Long Island...Dr. Hershlag from North Shore Hospital..

Not friends with her, but Jaime Lynn Siegler came into the the hospital I used to work in right before her wedding to AJ because she broke her ankle.
Her e-ring was blinding!
I also used to be friends with someone who was a "child star". She was in a movie with Tom Cruise and on a few HBO shows / specials.
That's it really... DH arrested a few rappers when he worked for NYPD. Fabuless and a few others I can't remember... He also met Kim Katrall and SJP of Sex and the City while they were filming at 3am!

I am in a kind of work that I meet with famous people on daily basis....from political figures to celebrities to sheiks and richest people of the world....I have met & had lunches with many of them...I don't consider them as my "friends" but a lot of them know my name...
I was an extra on the film "Bronx Tale" and became friends with Robert Deniro & Chaz Palmentarri who filmed the movie for about 6 months on my block & and at my HS...
The only "famous person" I dated (for about 2 years) is related to the Gambino family...... I was "friends" with John Gotti, his daughter & babysat his grandchildren Frank, Carmine & John  I did attend his funeral which was held in Maspeth & Glendale where I used to live...
Where did you live in Glendale? I lived there myself.
Here are my "celebrity" connections:
Went to school with big Mafia heads.
Grew up with the Gambino Family.
Partied a few times with John Gotti and his "crew".
My grandfather was friends with Tony Danza's family and went to his Christening, Communion and Confirmation parties.
My grandfather also sang with Tony Bennet in the early years.
My grandparents are good friends with Jimmy Breslin (journalist) and his family.
ETA- My aunt used to work for Rachel Ray in the early 90's in Macy's. My aunt has some stories about that one!

My MIL taught Lisa Raye (actress from Will Smith's TV show "All of Us" on WB, also the stripper from "Player's Club")
She also taught Tonya Williams, she plays Olivia Frye on All My Children
I went to the same HS as Busta Rhymes and saw him shooting a video in my old neighborhood when he was in Leaders of a New School.

I knew Mackenzie phillips, back in her drug days, she used to hide out in my small lil town.
Also used to babysit bijou phillips, UGH..SHE was a snotty little brat in my little brothers class at school.

DH's cousin's husband is the brother of a Detroit Pistons player. She and her husband don't have to work. He takes care of everyone in his family.
That's the closest I am to a famous person.
Oh, DH used to shoot hoops for fun with Timberwolves players. He worked at the same health club that they practiced at. DH got first dibs when their guest game tickets were not going to be used. Sometimes, he accompanied their kids to a game when their wives didn't want to go. Those were usually first or second row floor tickets.

My former landlord was good friends with Marc Anthony. Not many people care for him now especially since the whole breakup with Dayanara, but from what I heard he was a very nice person.

Here are my connections:
Dh's aunt used to live next door to Ray Liotta.
My MIL is good friends with the crying mother in Sleepers.
Not friends with her, but saw Natalie Portman on the LIRR train to Syosset.
C's friend from Bronx Tale was our waiter at Carmine's. He vented to us about his lack of success...lol..since that movie.
I student taught in the same school that Darrel Hamon's (from Saturday Night Lives) daughter went to.
Friends of dh's family own the house that the Soprano's shoot in..he has been there to watch the show..

Well I don't know anyone personally, but I have some six-degrees stories.
A girl I was sort of friends with through church growing up is John Cryer's (Two and a Half Men and "Ducky") step-sister. I never met him though.
My SIL's MIL (confusing, I know) is cousin's (or maybe second cousins) with Edie Falco (from Sopranos). She was supposed to come to their wedding but then couldn't.
I served Alan Alda (from MASH) ice cream at TCBY when I was in college.
My friend used to intern for MTV and got to meet some people when they came on.
