My DH's cousin's husband is cousin's with Billy Idol. I never met him but DH has a few times.
I once went on a few dates with August Busch IV (Anheuser Busch) - I should have worked that one better 
I never knew him personally but I did meet JFK Jr a couple times (work related)

oh that's so funny you mention him!
we had our food tasting at flowerfield, where we are getting married in september, and he was there with his wife and son (who is getting married there in a few months too)-- they were there along with the son's fiance and her parents.
it was a few weeks ago- really cool.

Used to be friends with Edie Falco's brother.
I knew Billy Joel's drummer AND lawyer.
Had dinner with the '69 Mets.
My great aunts were singers back in the day...I'm talking the 40's.
Dee Snyder's kids went to the school where I student taught. But they weren't in my classes.

DH grew up down the block from Ed Burns and was on his baseball teams all through childhood. He still has the team photos.
your dh is from valley stream? that is where ed burns grew up i think

I feel weird when I see the reality show, and they show those old family movies of Nick when he was a little kid...I think...I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL when Nick was just a boy!

This thread is so fun! I love the six-degrees stuff.
I have a bunch of semi- or soon-to-be-famous acquaintances and friends of friends. And then a lot of actual famous people whom I worked with or came in contact with b/c of work.
One of my good friends is a comedy writer who has worked with most of the people from The Daily Show, Conan, and Best Week Ever.
I've worked with Marisa Tomei (intimately -- as in I had to help her get dressed daily). Because of her I got to talk to Joe Pesce on the phone once.
Other actors I've worked with or met b/c of theatre stuff: Scott Glenn (Bourne Identity, Silence of the Lambs, Urban Cowboy), Jennifer Esposito (Crash), Chris Noth (Mr. Big), Laura Linney, Hope Davis, Billy Crudup, Timothy Olephant, Patti Lupone, Dana Ivey.
My big brush with celebrity though was with Richard Gere. I sat behind him in a really really small theatre once -- it was so small that my knees were smashed against the back of his chair and every time he adjusted his arm (like to put it around his girlfriend's shoulders) he bumped my knee and then turned around to apologize. The first time it happened was a total accident, but then I started to bump him on purpose and every time he turned around to apologize and with each bump he touched me more. The first time he just held his hand up, like "my fault -- sorry". Then he put his hand on my knee to say sorry. By like the fourth time he had his hand very high up on my thigh (and I was wearing a skirt). I love to tell that story as The Night Richard Gere Went to Third Base with me !

and if anyone recalls the "bat mitzvahpalooza" a few years back where 50 cent, Aerosmith, the Eagles, and other well known performers were brought in for a 13 year olds friggin birthday party at a posh NYC hotel....i used to work for the father...a very eccentric billionaire! sorry cant name names, he's being indicted on federal charges! 
My sister was best friends with his older daughter, Victoria.
Other connections: my mom used to play tennis with Alison Stern (Howard's ex-wife). I was friendly with his oldest daughter through high school and camp.

I used to play kickball against Eddie McGee from Big Brother 1 (he was the winner) in 4th grade, before he lost his leg. Eddie was a year ahead of me in school.

I was really good friends w/ someone in HS. And for awhile after.
Lost touch. But if I saw her today we would talk. It was crazy going places w/ her back in the day. All the people wherever you go. Forget seeing a movie. Always bombarded.

I'm very good friends with two/three big DJs - who have legitimate platinum selling records.
My family is also good friends w/a retired Met player.
I "dated" someone who's pretty big right now (actor.)
Oh, and I used to work with Bernadette Peter's first cousin.
Who did you date that was famous? dish!

Pauly Selekta from Burn Unit (formerly Lords of Brooklyn).
Not really too famous, but I did find him on a CD I had owned for a few years after I met him- really nice guy- good friends with my cousins.
My BFF is directly related to Leonardo DiCaprio- I can even draw the bloodline. (Her grandfather was his Uncle). But they have never met.
Why haven't they met?

My Aunt and Uncle became Debbie Mazar's gaurdian when she was 16- I never met her
my uncle reps Rob Bartlet- formally of the Imus show- he is on broadway alot and does Law and order regularly- I know him- he is very nice
I used to be friends with Lilo Brocatio- C from a bronx tale- had we stayed friends - he would not be in Jail- he shot that guy the night of my wedding 
Which one was C? Sonny? or someone else? oh wow, that must be a crazy wedding story!
