my favorite thing to do after the holidays is plan a trip someplace warm!

We ski. I hate the winter but having a couple of fun ski trips planned with our friends makes it all bearable. Sometimes we will rent a seasonal house or other times we will plan like 3 trips. We have such a good time hanging out in the lodge, drinking, skiing (yes, sometimes in that order ), and taking advantage of whatever the particular town or ski resort has to offer. It makes the winter go so fast. We ski with our summer house friends so it's like we get summer fun, a break, winter fun, a break, repeat.

this sounds like so much fun! I never went skiing!

Snow days, mugs of hot cocoa, pajama/movie days, comfort food, baking with my DD, all of the holiday festivities of course, sleigh riding, building a snowman with the kids, and lots of quality, snuggly family time at home. I love the winter.

Fav things to do in the winter..
Stay inside the near the heat. I absolutely despise winter. If I could, I would spend January through April in Florida. That said, I love the holidays and the Christmas lights so I go outside to see them. Eta : I'm talking about after the holidays end in January. I'm out and about during December because of the holiday season.

The only time I tried skiing I broke a bone.
Goes to show you that me and winter do NOT mix.
However- the drinking part sounds fun!

Snowboard! But with 3 little kids it rarely happens now.
Boy do i miss the days of having a ski house for the season!
