For those with a flat screen mounted on the wall
What did you do with the cable box, DVD player, etc? We just mounted our flat screen (in living room) and want to get rid of the TV stand to give us more room, but we need something for the cable box, etc. What did you do? I'm thinking of a console table with a shelf on the bottom, but nothing too big. Any suggestions?

Re: For those with a flat screen mounted on the wall
We bought this mounting rack, and it holds everything in mid air right below the tv. Mounting Rack
I didn't want a table, and didn't want a stand that stayed on the floor. (bc the depth of the room is already small) This works great.

I found this photo on google images... but I like this look. A shorter small table that can hold your dvd player and other gadgets:
Just make sure whatever you get is at least a little wider than the TV.

Re: For those with a flat screen mounted on the wall
we bought a nice cherry wood electric fireplace to place under neath our 46 inch flat screen mounted tv. We placed the cable box and dvd on top of the mantle of the fireplace, along with 2 picture frames. The mantle on the fireplace is the same length of the tv so it fits just right.

Our components are in the closet, speakers are in the ceiling and wall and we control the components with IR and WiFi (iPhone remote application for the AppleTV.)

Re: For those with a flat screen mounted on the wall
Our TV is over our fireplace. We bought a small tv stand, which sits to the left of the tv, and put the cable box, DVD player, movies, etc in there.

Re: For those with a flat screen mounted on the wall
We had a shelf built under the tv right on the wall. For the one in the kitchen, I have the countertop right next to it, so the fios box in horizontal on the countertop nice and flat, next to my cookbooks

Re: For those with a flat screen mounted on the wall
We got a nice TV stand/table at Bobs. It has shelves which we have our DVR, DVD and receiver on. It's very uncluttered.
