Freddy update
Mom and dad came in last night along with my long time friend. Freddy is having an MRI of the brain this morning. Hopefully we will know more about how extenstive the brain damage may be. I pray it's minimal and rehabable. checking out a rehab place today in Flushing and then to the hospital to see him.
The renal doc doesn't think his kidneys will come back which means he will be a forever dialysis patient. Doctors are not always right. I hoping he's wrong.
They are trying to get him off the ventilator so I hope that will open more doors for him and the rehab places that will take him.
I don't hold much hope for this place today. I didn't get the warm fuzzies but I have to investigate all the places. Tomorrow is a place in Woodmere.
I hate this.

I think its great that you can be looking for rehab places. He's a fighter and will make it.
Is one of the renal docs Badillo or Johnson? that's who I had when I had my kidney troubles, so I know they are good, but I hope that Freddy proves him wrong.

I think it's Badillo...I've only met him twice. I hope he's wrong.

Also, he's not ready for rehab yet, but I have to start the ball rolling and see what these places are about. They are also doing an echocardiagram soon on him and hopefully in the next day or so get him in a chair.
The neurologist said on the phone that he's doing exellent. Then in the notes the nurse read that he's somewhat responsive. Compared to where he's been, I think he's very responsive.
I hope if he can come out of this, he will be able to cope with his health issues. Dialysis for a long time can be taxing. He's only 44..he can live a long life this way if he makes it but to be on dialysis for decades is quite trying. Some decide not to continue..I worry about his emotional state.
