I loved that Jon was named the new leader (can't remember what they call him) for the night's watch. He is a true leader. Despite all, his father did teach him a lot about being a leader (father or "father", I still haven't decided my official theory).
My theory is that Jon is Ned Starks sister's son. He kept saying that he promised his sister to take that secret to his grave.
That's what I think - her + Robert Barathian, so he's the true leader of the North AND the true King.
I think that Jon is the son of Ned Stark's sister and the Mad King. I remember in the first season Ned and Robert talking about how much Robert loved his sister and then the Targaryeran got his hands on her. I think he said he raped her. I have a feeling Jon is a product of that rape
Not the MAd King, but is son Rhaegar.

Who is Jon snows mother?
They never say - they elude to the idea that it was "just a wh0re", but I don't think that was the case.
My guess is he has some dragon blood in him!!!
ITA- I'm a big R+L=JS believer! I also think Tyrion is a Targaryan b@stard from Arys, and I think Varys knows it too.
Ooohh, that's a possibility! I hadn't even thought of Tyrion not being "Lanister" through and through. I liked last nights episode a lot. DH is all about Arya's story line and was so excited about the house of black and white.
Interesting theory, but i'm pretty sure its not true because Tyrion's mother died while giving birth to him, which is why everyone in the family hates him so much.
Tyrion's mother is not the Lannister. Apparently the theory goes that Tywin set wheels in motion to aid the coup against the Targaryans because he hated Arys. I think it goes into more in the books.
Some people even think that Tyrion may be the 3rd head of the dragon (along with JS and Daenarys)
Who is Tyrion's mother then? i'm really confused. I read all the books and swear that one of the reasons Cersei and Jamie and Tywin hated Tyrion from the start was because their mother/wife died while giving birth to him.

Oh actually I stand corrected. I just looked into the lineage and she actually IS a Lannister. Joanna Lannister was Tywin's 1st cousin so her name was already Lannister when she married Tywin. But I still think she had an affair with the Mad King and that Tyrion is part Targaryan. He's described in the books as being whitish blonde and having one blue eye and one green. This is actually similar to another Targaryan b@stard Sheera Seastar, who has ties to the Blood Raven. I have NO idea if they're going to touch on any of that in the TV series, but they might bring it up in Bran's story line.
From GoT Wiki:
According to Barristan Selmy, the Mad King lusted after Joanna. At the wedding of Tywin and Joanna, Aerys drunkenly japed about how it was a pity the First Night tradition was banned and took too many liberties during Joanna's bedding. Tywin was not amused, and that caused further friction between him and Aerys.
I've also heard some theories that Cersei and Jamie are Targaryans as well- would explain the incest.
Anyway, that's my geeked out theory

Anyone else really interested in the "Reek" character?
His spirit was beyond broken but now he is just faking it?

I know, I can't tell. He certainly looked uneasy when he saw Sansa walk in.
I was so glad to learn more about Brienne and her back story and why she was so connected and loyal to Renly.

His character was one of my favorite things about the books because he is so totally and utterly destroyed, mentally and physically. They really couldn't do it justice in the show because you can't hear his thoughts....but in the book when you read inside his head....damn....he's messed up!!! Totally new character!

I don't think he's faking it- but he's also not being tortured on the regular anymore. Also, there comes a point where he's got nothing left to lose and everything left to gain. I hope he steps in to help Sansa.... though with Littlefinger there, I doubt she'll need the help. He is crafty and would normally put anything above anyone, except for Little Cat, ya know? I think he's just trying to make the Boltons feel secure before he sends his regards.

OMG...That is amazing! I never even thought of that. He does resemble a Baratheon..remember thats how they figured out Cercei's kids weren't his bec of their hair color and all of Roberts bastards had black hair!

Game of Thrones
(I wont give anything away, nothing about the story) I just watched this coming up Sundays episode.
I turned it on. Looked up and it was over. One hour went by in 5 min.
I read all the books, but WAY to long ago to really remember anything. I DO remember a few things coming up but would NEVER reveal.
I wish I remembered the nuance of all of it.

Honestly, I think book readers deserve a damn pat on the back for not spoiling a major plot twist. Every time I get mad at a friend who has ONLY watched the show I feel like shouting it at them.
I've read them all twice- one of them three times and I still can't remember the nuances of it- there is a LOT of info to work with.

That's another reason why i enjoy watching the show so much - there's SOOOOO much to remember from the books and things that i know i didn't catch when i read it the first time. So watching the show is like a refresher of sorts and a chance to get the things i missed (like i glossed over Dorne too much while reading, and regretted it!)

I don't blame you!! Dorne was boring in the books! Or not so much boring as odd- since we had no idea who any of those people were or why we were supposed to care about them. The show seems to be going in a different direction for Dorne anyway so I'm interested to see how it plays out.

Game of Thrones
Thoughts on last night's episode? I was excited to see Grey Worm still alive, I like him. I'm very interested in the whole Reek / Theon character, he really does seem to recognize Sansa and when he said "you shouldn't be here" I do not think he was just talking about in the kennels, I believe he really meant that she shouldn't be there, with the Boltons. Valeria was interesting, and I'm so upset about Jorah (sp?) getting the greyscale!!! The John Snow storyline is so interesting, I loved the speech maester gave him, "kill the boy. and let the man be born."
So good!

I thought it was great! It set an awesome foundation for the next few episodes.
I have also been reading the same speculation online that Jon Snow is Lyanna's son with Rhaegar after he kidnapped and raped her. This makes the most sense especially with regards to the title (Fire = Dany and Ice = Jon Snow). If this is true, he's older than Dany and the true heir to the throne after Stannis. I am really starting to like Stannis for some reason but I know deep down that he will be defeated somehow.

Me too -- Stannis seems to clearly be the most level headed. He is also the only person i see worrying about these white walkers -- no one else is!!! I like Stannis and know bc i do, he will be the next to go (bring in the Boltons -- yuck)

OMG the Boltons... ugh they make my stomach turn! Roose is just as bad as Ramsey but we just haven't seen it yet I am sure.
And Dany! What is she doing marrying that guy??
I am dying to know if she will ever manage to control the dragons, there has to be some way.

I like Dany but her decision making is crazy. I usually like her style when she is doing things without guidance but lately ehhhhh. Hoping Tyrion gets to her fast and she trusts his guidance. He could be a huge help. Would love to see John Snow unit with the two of them as well.
